Our Story
Dr. Jacob Johnson is a Licensed Veterinarian in California and Arizona whose primary focus is providing high quality equine dentistry services throughout Southern and Central California, and Arizona. He owns/operates Mojave River Equine Veterinary Service, a mobile practice that is fully equipped to handle routine, advanced and emergency care for horses in the comfort of their own surroundings. Dr. Johnson has extensive knowledge and experience in all aspects of equine medicine and strives to provide exceptional services to his patients and clients. His mobile practice is equipped for everything, including on-board digital radiology equipment for pre-purchase and/or lameness diagnostics, lab services, ophthalmology, oncology, internal medicine, neurology, dermatology, and routine wellness and preventative care programs that include vaccinations/de-worming, routine dentistry and nutrition/diet plans. Although Dr. Johnson enjoys medicine, his passion lies in dentistry. After acquiring Advanced Equine Dentistry, he has decided to focus his practice on dentistry. Routine Dental Work is ESSENTIAL to your horse's health and well-being. Weight loss, loss of appetite, dull coat, not giving to collection, pulling on the bit, head tossing, rearing and/or a change in attitude can all be symptoms of pain caused by hooks and ramps created inside the mouth. OUCH! Routine dental work includes oral exam, power float, occlusal adjustment and, in some cases, tartar removal (usually from canine teeth). Other services may be necessary and will be discussed upon exam. Advanced Dentistry includes procedures such as extractions, restoration and other advanced oral surgery, depending on diagnosis. Dr. Johnson excels in this area and has handled a variety of rare cases. Call for consultation. Mojave River Equine Veterinary Services. Serving ALL of Southern and Central California, and Arizona.
