39 new beginnings! 🐾💛 This week, 39 pets left the shelter behind and stepped into the loving arms of their new families. With cozy beds waiting and brighter days ahead, their forever stories are officially underway — and our hearts couldn’t be fuller. 🏡✨

These are the pets that have arrived at the shelter over the last few days and we want to get them home to their owners. Please DO NOT apply for these animals as they are strays waiting to find their family! If you recognize any of them, please call us at (434) 973-5959 or stop by the shelter from 12-6pm.

These animals are not available for adoption until their stray hold is over and they have been spayed/neutered. They will be posted to our website at that time if they are not redeemed. Thank you for your help in getting these animals home!

✨ Adoption Update! ✨🐾 Macaroni originally came to us as a stray back in September. Here's an update on this sweet boy and his new family:

"Macaroni (shortened to Mac) has been a fantastic addition to our family. He loves to play with our other hound, hike through Biscuit Run, and sleep in whatever sun he can find. He's so social and excited and loves to meet new people and explore new places and we're so happy with our choice to adopt him. Thank you!"

We are overjoyed for Mac, who is having the best time at his new home.

Meet Corn Pops!✨ 🍿 She is a 4-month-old tiny ball of sunshine! ☀️ She’s cheerful, curious, and just a little bit corny (in the best way). Whether she’s chasing toy mice or popping up out of her blanket fort, she brings laughter wherever she goes.

✨🐾 Happy Thanksgiving from everyone at the CASPCA!✨🍗

Before you start sharing bites from your holiday plate, here’s what’s safe for your pup to snack on — and what should stay far, far away.

🍽️ Safe & Dog-Approved (in small amounts, and unseasoned):
• Carrots
• Green beans
• Sweet potatoes
• Mashed potatoes (plain!)
• Turkey (plain, no skin, no bones)
• A small dollop of whipped cream for dessert

🚫 Not Safe for Dogs:
• Anything high-fat or heavily seasoned
• Garlic or onion
• Cooked bones
• Mushrooms
• Grapes or raisins

A little preparation goes a long way in keeping holiday pups happy, healthy, and able to enjoy the Thanksgiving fun right alongside you. 🧡🐶🥔🦃

🐾✨PAW-LIDAY ANNOUNCEMENT! ✨🎄Need a little kid-free time to wrap gifts or finish your holiday shopping? We’ve got you covered!

Join us at the Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA for our first-ever Pawliday Workshop, a fun-filled morning for kids to celebrate the season and complete some shopping of their own.

Campers will enjoy festive activities like ornament making, crafting toys for dogs and cats, watching a cozy holiday movie, and shopping for gifts for their family (both human and furry!).

During camp, the CASPCA Rummage Store will set up a special pop-up shop right at the shelter, filled with unique treasures for parents, siblings, pets, and more. Campers can bring extra spending money to shop for gifts, then head to our gift-wrapping station to wrap their finds before heading home, ready to surprise their loved ones!

Adoption Update! 🐾✨ Anastasia (now Cricket) originally came to us with three of her littermates back in September. Here's an update on this sweet kitty and her new family:

"Anastasia (whose name has been changed to Cricket) wasted absolutely no time making herself comfortable in her new home. She loves cuddles, playing with strings, and chirping at us as she follows us around the house. She has brought such a ray of sunshine into our lives. Even though it’s been a week, I can’t imagine our house without her in it now. She is such a curious, sweet, well-behaved girl who is getting bigger by the day!"

We are overjoyed for Cricket, who is living her best life at her new home.

Meet the Great Pyrenees, Oso! 🐾 Oso is a gentle and affectionate boy who will quickly steal your heart! He walks wonderfully on leash and loves leaning against your legs for pets, soaking up every bit of attention. This sweet guy may need just a minute to get comfortable around new people, but once he does, he turns into the ultimate drooly cuddle bug. Calm, loving, and eager to share affection, Oso is ready to find a forever family who will treasure his sweet, snuggly nature.

Meet Skype — the tiny acrobat with a giant heart! 💗🐾 Skype is a playful, spirited little girl kitten who brings joy wherever she goes. When the wand toy comes out, she transforms into a mini circus star — flipping, leaping, and showing off acrobatics that would impress a professional gymnast. And when she’s feeling extra silly, she puffs up her tail and does adorable sideways “baby goat” hops that will have you laughing every time.

In her foster home, Skype interacted beautifully with children and even won over the grumpy resident cat with her gentle manners. She’s also a litter-box pro — tidy, consistent, and easy to care for.

If you’re looking for a kitten who’s equal parts entertainer and snuggle companion, Skype is your girl. She’s ready to fill her forever home with laughter, affection, and her extraordinary charm. 💕🐱 Skype is spayed, microchipped, and up-to-date on all of her vaccinations. You can meet her at the CASPCA between the hours of 12 and 6 PM daily, no appointment necessary.
