🏀🐾 A slam dunk of a visit!

Yesterday, we were thrilled to welcome members of UVA’s Men’s Basketball Team, in collaboration with CAV Futures, to the shelter for some furry fun and a few promotional video shoots! These student-athletes took time out of their summer training to cuddle kittens, meet adoptable dogs, and show just how much heart they bring—both on and off the court.

We’re so proud to partner with UVA Athletics and grateful to these young men for stepping into leadership roles not just on game day, but right here in our community. 💙

🐶 Say hello to Gerard! 🐾 He’s the perfect pup for a single person or a family home! 💕 Gerard is sweet, loyal, and smart — the kind of dog who will happily follow you around the house. 🏡 He’s great with kids, friendly with everyone he meets 🥰, has excellent house manners , and loves to give kisses! 😘

After years of dedicated service to the animals and people of CASPCA, our incredible teammate Dani is embarking on a new chapter. While we’ll miss her dearly, we couldn’t be more proud! 💙

During her time with us, Dani has led multiple departments, facilitated countless adoption and foster placements, and expanded our volunteer and youth programming—all with tireless grace and compassion. Dani has left an indelible mark on our shelter. Her kindness, generosity, creativity, and trademark serene, grounded demeanor have made life brighter for so many animals—and for all of us lucky enough to work alongside her.
