Heartbroken over the devastating loss of our
beautiful Petra

She was there at the beginning of my career
One of the first in my board and train program
I loved her endlessly as one of my own
She was with me at dozens of birthdays and holidays
This loss leaves a gaping hole that only time will heal
Please keep her family in your thoughts and prayers
Sudden loss like this is crushing

Petra,
Thank you for teaching me patience. For growing with me throughout my 20’s in this career. You helped raise so many dogs and puppies with me. You were a fair teacher to all. Lydia’s souls sister. I owe so much to you. Rest in peace sweet girl, we’ll see you on the other side 🤍🖤🩵

Look at all my Husky babies 🥺💕🐺

There are no shortcuts to well-trained Husky. It takes noise canceling headphones, sleepless mornings (nights and days), off leash influence, a lot of time and with that - money.

It also takes the owner committing to using the e-collar. Period.

Huskies hate feeling restrained. They were bred to pull. They THRIVE with off leash, freedom. They have high pre-drive. If you really want a well-trained husky, you have to commit to the whole bit.

As a dog trainer, they are definitely one of the more draining puppies to train. Due to their high energy and vocals. The can get in your head, literally.

But in my opinion, there are one of the most satisfying dogs to train. Especially when the client commits to letting you go all-the-way.

Pepper - on the left - I trust off leash reliability in my neighborhood. And if we had hiking here in Florida, I would trust him in nature too.

By the time he is 1-2 years I would trust him fully in all circumstances.

E-collar = freedom

Never forget that

Good Morning!
I have a good amount of new followers, so I wanted to reintroduce myself.
My name is Savanah 🦋🐾
I have been a professional dog trainer for just over six years.
My husky mix, Lydia, sent me down this path and I am forever grateful.
As a puppy, she was immensely destructive. Her separation anxiety with something I had never seen before. She would break out of wire crates, chew holes in walls and defecate all over my house. The roommates loved that 😅
I became a vet tech so that I could bring her to work, but ended up having to pay to bring her and couldn’t afford food rent bills and her.
Working as a Vet Tech is not for the faint of heart, and I became very depressed in that environment. I knew I wanted to work with dogs, but it needed to be in a different way.
I wasn’t going to give up and give her back to the shelter, so I started looking for a job or internship as a dog trainer.
I found a school and moved to Ohio with her for two months. The biggest leap of faith I’ve ever done.
Turns out, I’m pretty good at it. Dog training that is.
It’s a job where I never stop learning and never stop evolving.
My methods and ideologies grow with me 🌱
A year ago I purchased my first working dog, Tashi.
She has opened up a whole New World for me and has taught me so much and such a little time .
I love both my girls and I’m so blessed to have them as my partners 🐺🦇
Thank you to those who have been on this journey with me since the beginning, and welcome, those who have just arrived 💗

Dog etiquette is not common knowledge.
So let’s make it common knowledge !
There’s nothing wrong with not knowing something.
There is only something wrong with not changing after you learn 🦋
Social media can be an amazing tool to spread awareness.
Share this with your clients and friends so dog lovers all around can be polite and on the same page 📖
