The donkey from before had his white line come back and get ahead of us. Been five years, and even fairly diligent cleaning couldn't keep it perfect with his already foundered feet. So after the normal things to try to make him comfortable, I checked a spot that looked ok, but it wasn't and so he got resected and his old epona shoes that used to be glued tacked on with silicon padding in the bottom to spread and soften his impacts. The paper is to keep him from being glued to the floor while it cured. This is the start of a six month process of trying to keep the bad stuff killed off while his hoof grows down and hopefully stays tight as it does so.

Driving mare wearing some Ground control shoes. Mismatched colors because that's what I had in the truck. Owner said she wasn't acting lame after her drive on the paved roads.

There isn't a good place to post pricing like there used to be in the about section, so this is the 2024 basic pricing.
Trims $40
Front Shoes $100
Four Shoes $160
Pads $15-20 a side
Borium $50 a side
Ground Control Shoes, $110 for fronts $180 for 4.
210ml silicon pads, $10 plus the chemicals.
Hammer in heel pins are available and significantly cheaper than borium, but I haven't checked what they cost lately. Figure $10 a side plus the material cost.

Fancy rubber wedge plus squishy middle shoes for a old guy with a lot of pain. I've been doing him for a year straight in these and it helps a lot. One day I will remember to get the brand name from the owner.

Spring is here! Call, text, or message to set up an appointment. New clients welcome. Existing clients that were avoiding being out in the freezing cold are missed and I would like to see you and your horses again.

Older driving pony got her new ground control shoes today. Really wish they also came in a 4x0. Her back feet are a little smaller than the fronts. She's been getting decent traction on the pavement during her 2 and 4 mile drives with the set we just replaced. The cushion they provide has done wonders for her soundness. And honestly, I might have been able to get a third go on the fronts. These seem to do well, if your horse has a foot that matches with them.

Winter is coming, soon. So if your horses have shoes without snow pads, it is about time to change that.

And for my trimming customers that haven't seen me in 8 weeks, I miss you, and would like very much to see you before it gets really cold. And then I would like to see you again in February or March on a not particularly cold day.

Still at it. BUT, not as much, I'm not densing up on stops. Feet don't stop growing, and now is the time that the foundered ones need more attention than their average. But, I have a lot elderly clients, and I totally understand and prefer to minimize possible contact. For the next two to three weeks lets try to stick to trims only. It's muddy anyways.

Got a call from Speed Miller yesterday about a pony he was coming home with. Looks like it was six months or so since it was done last. Decided to take before and afters in the middle of the job. Pony stands real nice, cute but winter shaggy and needs some groceries. He will have it for sale after he finds out how it feels about things on it's back.

Darryl the donkey. Foot was resectioned to treat white line and he hasn't been happy standing on it. Put a 8xO shoe on him backwards to add support and superfast to fill in a little and glue it to the foot. Was told that the vet wanted it open to the air. Shared because this is an interesting job and wanted to make it easy for the client to share with their vet for feedback.

The weather hasn't been cooperating, but things are about to get better. Call/Message/Text to set up an appointment that works for your situation. I will do field trims in the cold, but need a flat relatively snow free area. 7342558656

Time for year end trims. The weather isn't likely to be better in January. I'll work any day that isn't Christmas.

Every once in a great while, you get to trim a mini that is so adorable that it's hilarious. I show up at sundown today, and he's waiting for me with his owner, not wearing anything. No rope, halter, just his fur. So after we say hi, I pick up a foot and go to work. I only had to chase him down once between feet, because his stall had fresh food in it.

He lead back to the bright place(away from his food) by me grabbing a chunk of mane and walking. I didn't even have to pull.
