Meet Pablo Ruffien the most energetic, happiest Pitbull who can (almost) play fetch. Visit our Shelter to meet this smart guy in person. Adoption screenings are scheduled Tuesday-Saturday from 12:30 - 4:00 pm.
Our Animal Control Officers were called out to assist with what residents at an apartment complex described as several crows in distress. Upon further examination, it was discovered that several young crows had fallen from their nest, perched on the building's exterior, and into the air duct below. The crows were trapped for several days. Yesterday our Officers left seed for the crows to lure them closer to an opening and today Officer McCullough was able to remove the last of the crows which was immediately released. Many thanks to local residents for reporting the birds in distress and our Officers for safely removing and releasing them. #animalcontrol #animalrescue #crow

🚨ADOPTION UPDATE🚨
Featuring Buff. "We wanted to give a quick update about how things were going. So far, he has been settling in really well!!! We tried to isolate him even though we already live in bare, small apartment. It failed LOL cause as soon as he hopped out the box, it was impossible to separate us from him. He zooms around the place, plays with his toys for hours, and is PERSISTENT on finding a way to snuggle with us in bed. We also recently learned he apparently knows how to play fetch??? He demands that we do it every morning like a dog"
Thank you to our friends at Project X/AV for helping our Shelter pets welcome the spring season with a little fun. Buzz by the Burbank Animal Shelter this week to meet our adorable pets.
My name is Mittsie and I'm a feisty and playful black and white kitten with white mittens. I was born with limited vision and my eyes are deformed, but that doesn’t stop me. I'm just like any other kitten! My motto is Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop. There’s always time to play and explore. My favorite game is Pounce. I love to play with toys, and I’ll bring them with me when I find my forever home.
A gradual transition into my new home would be best. It didn’t take me too long to be able to navigate my new foster mom’s condo. I go up and down stairs easily now, and I can find my litter box even though it’s upstairs. It’s best if things don’t move around too much. If I get lost, I might have to call out for some help sometimes.
I prefer to climb, since I can’t see well enough to jump onto most surfaces. So regular mani-pedis are a must.
I can play hard, but I'm learning to be a lap cat. I’m going through my teenage years so sometimes I’m cuddly, but the next moment I want to be left alone or play. And sometimes I like to sit under the desk while my foster mom works.

Big dogs are cuddle buddies, playtime pals and loyal best friends. But sadly, a disproportionate number of big dogs are among the thousands of healthy, adoptable dogs that don’t make it out of California’s shelters each year, simply because they don’t have safe places to call home. In fact, dogs in California with the longest shelter stays are usually those weighing 40 pounds or more.
Together, we can change that. Adopt or foster a big dog and live large in 2022. Adoption fees for our large dogs will be 50% OFF now until the end of the month!
🚨 ADOPTION UPDATE🚨 Hope everyone at the Burbank Shelter had a good Thanksgiving. I just wanted to share photos and videos of Ranger and we can’t thank you all enough for an easy transition. Ranger has been a blessing to us. He is so playful, so sweet, very smart and soooo loving. We are definitely blessed to have him now with us. We love him so much. He sleeps with my son in his room and waits for him out in the living room till he gets home and goes in the bedroom when he gets home, it’s the cutest thing. He sleeps with whatever toy he finds in the house. Thank you all so much.
