Spend this day ( and every day) learning about your dog. Giving them the opportunity to get outside every day to sniff and explore
Spend this day ( and every day) learning about dog body language and behavior , about why they do what they do
Remember that every animal is studied and understood through science. This includes dogs
So we're not using opinions or putting our human views on them
They have their own unique language and behavior
Don't guess. Get educated
Work with a qualified * force free* trainer who can help strengthen the bond between you and your dog. Start with your behavior and knowledge of dogs

Just finished working with Archie and his humans. Archie is 5 months old and recently rescued. He'd been dumped with his siblings and brought to a shelter
So he can be nervous and is still learning about life, Of course he is.
Today we worked on fun confidence building games. We worked on ways to minimize barking but still be able to communicate his stress
We worked on healthy outlets/Enrichment
I always spend a good portion of my session educating humans on dog behavior. On why they are the way they are
I had someone ask me recently what kind of training I did and what did I focus on
I told him "I educate humans on dog behavior so that the humans can change their own behaviors first"
No dog needs: a shock, prong, choke or bark collar. They dont need "corrections" They do not need "discipline" or "obedience"
They need humans wno want to truly understand them

I will always be our dog's advocate. I will continue to grow my knowledge and skills so I can give them better lives through educating people❤️🐾

Meet your dog's needs:

Daily exercise outside in nature
A nutrient rich fresh food diet
Time to themselves to rest and for calm
Having a human who understands dog body language and behavior and respects this.
Lots of uninterrupted sniff time
Allows dogs to make choices for themselves
Less micromanaging and more letting our dogs be dogs
