15 years ago I fell and got hurt and become wheel chair bound. For many years I tried to walk on my own. I have 3 surgeries only to not have it help. As the years passed it got worse till one day my husband said why don’t you go back into training dogs ? I remembered in my younger years I used to train for Service Dogs, shows and many other activities. So, I thought why not. This gave me hope.
As you see above , Bella and Domino helping me walk. Jonas is taking our picture. This day is hard ,much harder then it looks. With Jonas help and help from the kids I started to walk more.
Things changed from when I did it from adult. I learned about ADI and later on ADA training rules and in itself can be a nightmare for a truly handicap person with mobility issues. In order to get my Bella I had to write a program for my care as to why I thought Bella could help me. You see the doctor just doesn’t give it to you. You must prove why and how they can help. So, I sat down and started to think of all she could do for me.. From the training I learned years ago gave me hope to get out of my wheel chair and have a some what healthy normal life. Why you may ask I decided to, I was told by trainers that it would cost over 1 hundred thousand dollars to train her for all my needs. I knew we didn’t have that. Jonas said try..I know you can do it.
So I looked high and wide for the perfect one and found Bella..My first one died due to kids racing and he got hit by a car. That’s another story. After Bella and Domino I got Zuse at six months thinking he would be just Jonas dog not mine..Well he fell in love with me at first sight.
Bella does really well but Zuse out shined her..Once when I was standing ,( he wasn’t trained for this) he was laying beside me while I was talking to a lady about his training. I started to fall backwards , I didn’t feel it but Zuse was seeing it. He got up went behind me caught me on his back waited for me to get my footing to stand straight again and side stepped into me to help me gain a upright position , then went and laid at my side again. All without commands. When I have vertigo attacks he is there and stops me from falling. Either by standing there while I am holding on to him or him bringing me over to sit down. Sometimes he will argue with me if I refuse..Some people think he is being mean but he is doing his job..
See, each disability is different not two people are the same. So ADA requires a animal to walk away and lay down away from the handler..For me I would be on the ground looking up.. I have broken my left hand twice.
ADA requires for others to take him without a argument. My argument people will try to steal him..He will go only if I say it’s ok. A handicap person is at other peoples mercy . ADA requires for him not to be aggressive.. I can’t count the times some person has tried to harm me. Zuse is not aggressive but if someone shows signs of being funny as if..He gives a low growl that makes your boots shake..Doesn’t try to attack just a warning like the one time coming out the lady’s room and a man thought he would try.. Zuse told him and pushed me back inside the ladies room. Zuse name is on his halter for a reason in case I pass out someone can call his name. No, it’s not meant as a game for people to try to see if he will. ( Wished I had a dollar everything people think they are cute).
The hours of training we give our puppies far out pass anyone can do. We have tested to make sure of what we are breeding and are not taking short cuts. So people that buy one of our dogs will live a long and healthy life if they continue as we have in there care. We make sure the homes they go into is a forever home not just a whim. Adopting is for a lifetime, but if should anything comes up we will take our dog back without compensation. .Thank you if you are reading this about our love for our GSD. They are more then a dog, they are family.
I have been asked about my German Shepard's. Both parents are AKC self thinking problem solvers and work for me as my service dogs. Both dogs have been exrayed with normal hips and the are free of DM by heritage. . Heritage means that there parents and grandparents and so on for 35 years have never had it. Both are bred from W. German import bloodlines bought to America. We have a ZERO compromise policy when it comes to health and temperament of our German Shepherd breeding stock. - We breed for a TOTAL family dog, NOT a high drive, intense sport/biting dog.Our breeding goals have always been for a German Shepherd who is very loyal and highly bonded to their family, calm and good natured with small pets and children, yet alert and protective of their family without being high strung or needlessly aggressive. Our goals started over 4 years ago with a desire to improve and preserve the purpose of this magnificent breed which is known for their devout loyalty, willingness to please and natural protective instincts, making the German Shepherd dog one of the very best companion dogs in the world.
Here at CJA Farm German Shepherds and will be dedicated to creating a consistent bloodlines through proper genetic selectivity for a large b***d, sound minded, healthy, medium drive dog who is best suited for a family environment. I prefer a strong pigment of black and red and some black and tan, our dogs have good bone, nice heads and ear sets and tend to be more straight backed, not the roached or low back that Show line German Shepherd dogs are known for. Our dogs have the conformation to move effortlessly for miles, they are strong in their backs, hips and legs the way the breed was meant to be.
I am hands on with my puppies and get to know each personality and will try to fit each puppy with there new owners by there temperaments . I will be asking for 3 references and each reference will be checked. Since it's hard to know buyers by just meeting them I hope this will help to fit in with good families.
Both parents were easy to train for my service work. Bella passed her training with straight A's. Not only is she highly intelligent, but loyal and a strikingly good looking dog every where we go. Bella loves everyone and is well known in Jersey. Bella favorite thing is to go to the library to meet and greet the kids. This is the day she gets to have hugs and kisses with the kids.
Zuse came to us as a older puppy almost 6 months. He learned to be my service dog by watching and by listening to Bella being trained. Zuse taught him self over 35 commands.
In fact one day at the store I started to fall backwards he got up went behind me and caught me and then moved so I could stand on my own. Then went back beside me once I was sure footed. I have not trained him for this he did it own his on. Many times Zuse has done things for which he wasn't trained for but does it by just doing. To say the least I was shocked and pleased. This is a self thinking dog. There are many stories i can tell you about him which even surprised me. I am glad he doesn't bite first and ask questions later kind of dog. What he has done before when coming out of a bathroom and I was only with him and a man was acting strangely, He looked at him ,looked at me and looked back at him decided he didn't like his actions and barked just one loud bark turned back to me like he was saying it's ok mom. Went to my side and kept a eye on him. The man knew and backed off. When I went to my meeting with over a hundred people never a sound from him. Dogs know.. Zuse ignores people until he feels something is off. Zuse does loves kids too that's another story. I did not pick him in person but was there at the air port when he arrived. I could not be happier we decided to get him for Bella.
Our puppies have showed the same high intelligence of using the puppy pads at two weeks old. These puppies will be beautiful . With handling them early gives them the time to know people. The litter is registered with the AKC and each will be able to have full registration. They will have a start on the hardest thing and that's house breaking a puppy. Each puppy will have 2 sets of shots and be wormed by a vet so it;'s easier to get there vet to believe it was done. So no added shots and cost of getting the three sets done only one.. No puppy leaves until they are 10 weeks old. All puppies go home with a certified Health certificate done by our vet. This assures you they are healthy from the start.
Puppy picks go first to puppies with the 500 deposit to Hold them. By date received gets first pick and so on. They get to pick at 8 weeks of age by a video while they interact with there litter mate and me. If any puppies are left with out the deposit then it will be first come first serve. Until a deposit is made a puppy is not held. Right now I have 5 people interested but they haven't paid there deposit so all puppies are open. I also have some people to call to let them know Bella has had her puppies. They will go fast with the interest that's being shown once they get older and cuter. If you are interested give me a pm and I can go further into the details of the puppies. Puppies are a firm $3,500.00. As there training progresses so does there price after the 10 weeks. All puppies must be paid for before they are shipped or picked up.
