It has been a tough few months for our team and me at home and in China. The cruelty I witnessed few would be able to bear and the strength it took to rescue in the face of such evil was beyond your worst nightmares. After we got back from Yulin exhausted and broken, we continued to rescue locally and care for the survivors. I was so encouraged by the requests we were getting for adoption that we spent hours, no sorry days, in the hot sun of over 38 degrees, carefully interacting with the 700 survivors to select 50 beautiful dogs that could be sponsored and adopted. Our team in the UK spent weeks getting all the images, videos and bios together.
It's unfortunate for me to find that the beauties we are proposing to you are being rejected. So, let me be clear. Our dogs mean everything to us. They have nearly been skinned alive. blowtorched alive, packed into tight containers, unable to breathe, beaten and starved. So yes, some may miss a limb or an eye or not look like show dogs. But they have love in their hearts, and if you want to end the dog meat trade and open your heart to rescue, then look past the outer shell into their souls. Because that is what I have had to do to rescue them in the first place and to say goodbye to the ones I was forced to watch be tortured and perish. We will offer you 50 of our amazing miracles for adoption and sponsorship. There will be no 'what if' ', do you have', or ' can't it be', and if you swap and change your mind and refuse to be compassionate after you put yourselves bravely forward as rescuers, then sadly, we can not offer you another choice. When you tell us your home is too small for this or remember our dogs live in a group in an area the size of your bathroom. They rarely get out, and they hardly ever get a cuddle. Don't they deserve a chance? The harsh reality is unless we get dogs out to homes, we can't take any more in, so that means no more asking us to rescue them. Meet Judy
Judy was rescued from a meat truck prior to the pandemic and has been living with her other doggy friends in our shelter. She's a bit bigger than a Jack Russell and she absolutely craves love and hugs and pushes herself to the front for love.
She would make an absolutley lovely pet and companion for life and would completely dote on her new family.

My name is Sally, I was rescued from a slaughterhouse in China with my friend Stanley.
Stanley has found his new home in Germany and I would very much like a new home also.
I only take up a tiny bit of space, I just need somewhere to rest my little paws, the odd belly tickles and some nice food, I don't eat too much as I'm only a small to medium pupper. I like humans and dogs alike.

Hi everyone, my name is Halle. I was rescued from shunyi dog meat market. I am around 3 years old and I absolutley love other doggies. My bestest friend is called Cristy, she went to live in the UK last year and I miss her very much. Anna tells me that she has a new name now, Qiwi , and that she has a loving family and a new brother and sister.
I would very much like this and maybe one day I could meet Qiwi again and have a play date.
I would love this so much.

Dogs like dear Rolf will be beneficiaries of your generosity. This poor boy was rescued from behind a dog meat restaurant. His nose and feet tied him. His skin is still bad, and emotionally, he is scarred. He rarely leaves his little plastic bed.
As you all know last year Hebei was struck by a devastating flood. We are slowly rebuilding kennels, installing working sanitation and other repairs. We plan to reconstruct the dogs' playground with grass that they can run on. Dogs like Rolf deserve a second chance.

It felt really sad that the corgis were not allowed to say a final goodbye to HM The Queen. So I took our rescues down to Hyde Park to bark out for them. King Charles has always replied very graciously to our charity letters and we hope in his reign to see much awaited change in animal welfare.
