Our tack consigner, A Splash of Tack at Flat Iron Farm, is closing its doors. January 25th is the last day to shop. They are open Saturday's and by appointment. Located at 45840 Highway to Heaven Ln (Flat Iron Farm).

We would like to thank Regina McKenna for all her support these last years. Thank you!

We will gladly accept any items currently on consignment there as we will be moving our inventory to a small shop space we have in Charlotte Hall. Donations are tax deductible and we can pick up when we move our items. Thank you!

Here are some suggestions:

• Submit your weekly MyGivingCircle vote. https://mygivingcircle.org/travellers-rest-farm-sanctuary
• Like Share Comment on our Facebook posts. Each interaction generates revenue.
• Setup a virtual fundraiser.
• Search the web for grants.
• Watch Facebook marketplace for items we can use (local pickup only).
• Ask vendors for donations we can use for online auctions or raffles.
• Sponor a bag of grain.
• Sponsor a horse.
• Seek out donors willing to donate items on our wish list.

2024 TAX RECEIPTS

We are in the process of generating tax receipts for donations over $250 (single or cumulative).

🧾 For donations under the $250 threshold, you only need to state the amount of your donation and our EIN (Travellers Rest Farm Sanctuary EIN 83-4531103) to claim a deduction on your taxes -- if want a receipt for donations under $250, we are happy to provide one, please email us at [email protected].

🧾 For fosters, please email your expense lists and totals to [email protected].

🧾 If you donated an item, please email us with a date, brief description of your donation and a total value to [email protected].

• PayPal donors will receive theirs via email.
• Check donors will receive theirs via USPS.
• For donations made via other electronic platforms. Unfortunately, they don't share donor information, so we can't generate receipts. Please email us if one is needed. We are happy to provide. [email protected]

We are a party of ONE, so please be patient. Just because it takes us a little longer doesn't mean we aren't appreciative of your generosity - we very much are.

2024 had its challenges, but we made it through. Despite the downturn in donations that forced us to shut down our rescue operations in 2023, we helped two horses, Moose and Cali, a herd of dwarf goats, and several tortoises.

Cali was a starvation case that we rehabilitated. She is healthy enough to move on to her next adventure with a wonderful family in Maryland and Moose has made friends with his herd; due to neurological issues, he can't be placed so he will remain here for the rest of his life.

We want to thank everyone who supported us in any capacity in 2024. Your support is greatly appreciated as we can not do it alone.

Travellers Rest Farm Sanctuary offers senior, blind, disabled, unwanted, and slaughter-bound horses a "their" lifetime commitment. We will accept horses from any situation from any location when space allows. We house over 50 residents at any given time, and they reside with us until they pass, on their schedule - not ours. Their care relies solely on donations, so please consider a one-time or recurring tax-deductible donation (83-4531103).

As of 7:30 AM, we have reached 5 inches of snowfall. Everyone appears to be comfortable. We have some ice pellets coming...

As of 7:30 AM, we have reached 5 inches of snowfall. Everyone appears to be comfortable. We have some ice pellets coming down, but hopefully, the snow line will return. Remember HAY equals HEAT, and hydration is crucial. No water then No grain, and definitely No suddden dietary changes - a mash won't warm them up; just disrupt their gut.

They are not horses but they are a bonded pair. This is our resident red-tail hawks. We see them regularly sharing the sanctuary with our other residents.

Cali (Yira) is fully recovered and ready for her new adventure. She will be available to an approved home who is knowledgeable in restarting Thoroughbreds. We are in no rush so only the perfect home will do for this special girl. What a difference a couple months of care makes ♡

And just like that you are gone. I got a call at 2:23 he was in distress. I left work and called the vet at 2:27, but before I could even get a vet in route I got a call at 3:00 he had passed... in his field surrounded by his herd. ❤️ Forever in our hearts. Rest easy my Max-a-one-in-a-million "Max" - you will be missed 🐴😢💔
