was started on a whim in 1986 by Connie Core Dubay during a late night conversation regarding the need for an affordable dog food for the long-distance sled dog mushers in the area. Connie contacted National Pet Feed and helped develop one of the first 'Performance' dog foods. The original Cold Spot Feeds store was located in a single bedroom of Connie's Fairbanks home. From those humble beginning

s in that small bedroom, she then expanded into the garage. Of course that did not meet her needs for long and a store was built next to the house. Cold Spot resided in that location until early 2003, when a building was rented in the retail shopping area in town. In 2012 Cold Spot needed more space - so we moved one last time. Cold Spot - for Healthy Pets now resides in a beautiful 35,000 sq. building and employs over 15 team members. Everyone at Cold Spot shares a passion for taking care of our community, providing top-grade products and ensuring that our knowledgeable team provides the best customer service in Alaska. As time has passed we continue to expand the business as our customer's needs have increased from local retailing to including a full mail order department and website (which is currently being updated - stay tuned for updates). As Cold Spot Feeds has transitioned into Cold Spot - for Healthy Pets, our commitment and dedication to our customers has continued to be our top priority; we demand excellence in all that we do and hope for your continued support. Cold Spot for Healthy Pets is now hiring for a front counter/sales associate position.
• Ensures that the front desk and entire sales floor is SNCO (Safe, Neat, Clean and Organized) and supports the 5 Commitments to success.
o Greet our customers.
o Stock our store for our customers.
o Price our merchandise for our customers.
o Take our customers money (quickly and efficiently)
o Thank our customers.
• Accepts money in the form of cash, credit card/debit card for customer purchases.
• Assists customers with locating various products, providing information, and helping with special orders etc.
• Processes merchandise exchanges and returns.
• Bag, box customer’s purchases and offer to carry items to customer’s vehicle.
• Ensures all safety and OSHA standards are being met on salesfloor and customer access areas.
• Works with warehouse/receiving team members to assist with stocking, pricing, and re-merchandising products.
• Adheres to all CSF Inc. policies and procedures.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Competencies:
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Works well with other team members.
• Communication Proficiency (verbal and written).
• Computer Skills (POS system).
• Collaboration with team members and vendor-partners.
• Knowledgeable about CSF Inc. products and services.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is required to sit; walk, climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience
Basic computer skills (POS ordering systems).
Basic business math (addition, subtraction, fractions).
Must be able to count money.
