if you’re new around here, you might not know that we make a pretty big deal about giving back for the holiday season (even more than usual!) 🎅🏼

we are beginning our fundraising efforts for our 2023 holiday gifting project! this year we will be creating a new blanket with both boys’ picture on it to give to our friends at nursing homes and other care facilities this christmas day.

The sky will be brighter tonight with the addition of Lola, a previous puppy from In The Ruff Danes, who left our world today at just over 11yrs old.
I can not be more greatful to her family, who loved and cherished her incredibly! ❤️ And we will miss her incredibly too, because she often stayed with us during family vacations.

Lola is a grand daughter from my first female Dane 💖
My first female Dane was "Tiger Lily In The Ruff' (born May 18th, 2003).
I kept one of the 6 pups from Lilly's last litter; Named 'Holly Hana Hue In The Ruff' (born May 21st, 2008).
Lola was one of the 8 pups from Holly's last litter; born September 17th, 2012.

"Our House is heartbroken today. For more than 11 years Lola has been our protector, self-proclaimed nanny, doorbell, walking buddy, and the biggest and best cuddle bug you could ask for. She has seen us through all the things and has been a constant blessing. She was the sweetest and most gentle giant who thought she could fit in anyone’s lap.

**puppy scammers**
I'm putting this out as a full disclosure & educational warning for anyone who should come across our "In The Ruff" name or any picture (current or previous) of one of our beautiful puppies.
*we are not planning for puppies in the near future*

Recently, more than ever before, I've had to report/block/alert/deny multiple people (aka fake facebook profiles) from attempting to download/steal our puppy photos, or comment on our posts in hopes of leading someone astray.

I first dealt with it in the early 2010's when a very angry daughter called me and wanted to know how I could live with myself after taking advantage of her mother....it took a few minutes of conversation for us BOTH to confirm that her mother had never spoken to ME! It was a scammer.

'In The Ruff Great Danes'
-will NEVER use 'pressure' sales tactic!
-will always provide multiple photos & videos of the SAME litter in the SAME house/yard!
-will always provide real-time video (Skype, FB messenger video, etc) to show you the environment, love and care of our puppies.

According to BBB (Better Business Bureau) data, nearly 10,000 scam reports and complaints have come in during the last three years about “businesses” selling puppies and dogs.
The Federal Trade Commission estimates that only about 10 percent of victims report these crimes, so this number could be much higher.

I hope everyone had a wonderful & safe Holiday weekend!
We brought the kiddos to our weekend vacation spot Campground this Sunday afternoon - Tuesday morning (now that they've received their final puppy vaccination).
They clearly loved all the extra attention AND all potty happened outside or in their litter bin!! (YAY!!)

Vernon (Brindle boy with ears cropped), V***n (Brindle red collar girl) & Pinkie (Brindle pink collar girl) are still looking for their amazing homes!!

Outside recess time (now that the sun is going down)!

We do have 2 brindle girls and 1 brindle boy still looking for their best forever families!
They all have wonderful confident personalities (and a slight obsession with sticks).

~ Vera (Pinkie, female); is often the leader of 'the puppy pack' on new adventures. But when we're having inside play time, she's typically the first one to ask to sit next to me on the couch and she'll immediately snuggle up and fall sleep.
~ V***n (Red collar female); has a stunning light chevron brindle pattern. She is very intelligent and the first to solve our doggie puzzles. She typically likes to stay close to humans to get the most pets.
~ Vernon (Green collar boy); Has already had his ears cropped by one of the top veterinarians in the country! He also has a stunning light chevron brindle pattern and a sweet 'people focused' personality. He prefers lap time & cuddles, but will happily join his siblings to explore the yard and new play toys!

Vernon is an absolutely beautiful brindle boy with a sweet 'people focused' personality. He prefers cuddles, but will happily join his siblings to explore the yard and new play toys!

Happy Beautiful Sunday!
Our Clover Babies had their 7wk vet check on Thursday with AMAZING results!
Everyone was eager to crawl into Dr. Davenport's lap, and she confirmed that all 9 puppers are wonderfully healthy; good hearts, bright eyes, good weights, and awesome lovey personalities! 🥰
**We are now looking for the BEST homes for;
Brindle girl V***n (red collar),
Brindle girl Vera (pink collar)
Brindle boy Vernon (green collar)

Brindle girl Vanna (Purple collar) & Fawn girl Velma are not yet available.

- Brindle girl Vinca (yellow collar) will be joining her new family soon.
- Brindle boy Vector (blue collar) joined a local family with one of our Aster/Timber babes.
- Fawn boy Veit (blue collar) joined Clover's brother (Grey The Therapy Dog).
- Fawn boy Vincent (green collar) joined his new family and a K9 sister!

I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday (it is absolutely beautiful here in Michigan)!

All of Clover's 9 Vibrant/Voluptuous/Vocal 'V-name' pups are doing fantastic and have fully transitioned to their puppy pen in our living space. This is where the 'building blocks' of socialization, desensitization, and confidence building happens! They become accustomed to normal household sounds like the TV, Music, the kitchen sounds/smells, the adult Danes, etc. They also learn that they can sleep safely with all that noise going on around them!

Something special happened in the early morning hours today... Clover welcomed 9 beautiful babies 🥰

Although there wasn't a major cause for concern, Clover's labor just wasn't progressing at the pace we were comfortable with. So off to the emergency vet we go at 1am. To insure the safety & health of Clover (and pups), we chose to go forward with a C-section.
And at 4am this morning we were graced with all 9 healthy, beautiful puppies!
6 Brindles (4 girls & 2 boys)
3 Fawns (1 girl & 2 boys)

Everyone is doing well (we are ALL just very tired)
