My service was established in 2009, but in 2018 an administrator helped set up the page... so that date is only in regards to this FB page.

I can sadly say my dog has recently had this respiratory illness-virus going around, He caught it from doggy day camp. Please take it seriously. 7 vet visits, multiple different medications, breathing treatments, numerous chest X-rays. It’s really hard to treat. Listen, Don’t put your dog through it and don’t put yourself through it by not taking precautions. Keep your dogs safe. Always check with your vet to learn more ⬇️⬇️⬇️

To my current and future clients, please know that I am very aware and concerned about this canine illness that seems to be spreading.
The dogs I care for are those who do not go to kennels and who receive personal care from friends, family or a service like mine. The majority of my owners walk their dogs and may visit a dog park, but they are very protective pet parents and to my knowledge avoid some of the scenarios mentioned here.
Each of my guests has their own feeding bowl and place to eat - they do not eat together, and there are numerous water bowls which are emptied and cleaned frequently. But again, most pups prefer their own dishes.
My intake has decreased from the years when I started my business, and although I had a good number at Thanksgiving, they were for the most part on a rotating schedule - coming and going, spending a couple days then home.
I want you to understand that I pay very close attention to minor details regarding your dog's health before they become anything major. My limit these days averages 3 dogs at a time, but most days there are between 1 and 2. I am substitute teaching during the school year so do keep the number of guests low.
Also, please remember that I make home visits and overnights so that dogs can stay comfortable in their own environments.

Your concern with this current "epidemic" is certainly warranted, and I count on you to keep me advised of your pet's health issues before any visits.

Quite a summer! Dogs here, cats there, sweet pets everywhere!
Life remains busy as Fall enters the picture - dogs need walking and feeding, cats need attention, appointments with vets and groomers continue, and trips to view lovely Fall foliage are a must!

From the last day of school (May 26) until yesterday (June 12), five pups enjoyed some time at COMFY CANINES. A loving Lab, a sweet little senior lady (20 years old), two Havanese/Shih Tzu mixes and my resident Havapoo became good friends and kept me busy!
This is the life I love, and next week I look forward to house-sitting for 2 dogs and a cat, followed by some kitty visits at the end of the month.

How nice it was to care for these two pups on a trip back to Iowa last week. Crazy weather but we were all pretty "comfy" - as you can see. 😊 Got lots of cuddles, and more this week as 3 sweethearts visit me during Winamac's Spring Break.
