UPDATE: Brussel Sprout found a foster home with one of our amazing rescue partners! Have you been thinking about fostering? “Brussel Sprout” is in need of a foster home with a 501c3 rescue, he’s a 1-2 year old intact male. He has adorable tan freckles and loves to play with other dogs (unsure on cats). He’s housebroken and LOVES everyone he meets! If you can commit to letting Brussel crash on your couch, reach out on our website and we’ll connect you with one of our amazing rescue partners! (brindle female has already found rescue placement 😊)

UPDATE: this dog is safe, “Bailey” is home! SHARE ❗️ Do you know me? ❗️SHARE UPDATE: We are working to trap this dog safely, we ask the public to please refrain from trying to catch this dog. He is easily startled and is not vehicle savvy, he will walk right into oncoming traffic. Please do not go to the area, do not stop on the road and do not call to the dog. This dog is at large near Stillwater and has clearly been trying to survive for quite a while. Please us call us if you recognize this dog, 715-220-1332.

Kitten Watch Camera

In early January in Forest Lake, we picked up a cat that had been attacked by a dog. She turned out to be very pregnant and semi-feral so she requires an experienced foster. One of our amazing rescue partners, The Rescue Crew stepped up to help with the perfect foster for her. The mama cat now has a quiet environment to birth her kittens, under the very watchful eye of her foster—just look at those kittens kick!

This little opossum was chased by a dog and fell to the bottom of a very deep and narrow window well. Usually a wooden board helps wildlife to crawl out of egress window but this would have been far to steep. As standard protocol we don’t provide services for wildlife. However when a compassionate resident calls desperate for help, we help. We scooped this guy out and escort him back to the nice shed he lives under.

We’ve heard from some of our FB page followers that you’d love to hear more stories about the animals we help! So we’re going to start featuring stories of animals weekly that we help in the communities we serve! First up is “Jinx”, missing since early July (original missing photo in comments), Jinx had snuck out the back door of his home. His loving family searched for him for days, knowing cats usually remain in a 4-6 house radius they where hopeful Jinx would return home at the smell of his litter box and favorite dry cat food. As time passed, the owners did not have luck finding Jinx so they called asking for our services. We set several traps near the most recent sighting location but had no luck catching Jinx (instead we caught a raccoon 🦝). Eventually after continued trapping efforts we switched to just a feeding station with a camera. And right away, there was Jinx! Over the course of a few days we advised the owner how to slowly move the feeding station closer to the house and we monitored the cameras for motion along with the owner. Eventually when Jinx was close to the house and spotted on the camera in the early morning hours, the owner quietly called for Jinx…and followed her right into the house. Welcome home Jinx! 💙

About Companion Animal Control

Founded in 2011, Companion Animal Control LLC provides humane animal control, rescue, and animal welfare education to over 25 cities in Pierce County, WI, St. Croix County, WI and Washington County, MN. CAC provides animal control services while working in cooperation with local law enforcement, dispatch, city/county officials, animal impound facilities and 501c3 rescues to ensure public safety, enforcement of animal related local, state and federal laws while advancing animal welfare in the community.

On this page, CAC posts photos and descriptions of animals impounded with the intent to locate an owner. Animals not reclaimed by an owner are transferred to local foster based animal rescues and shelters for adoption.
