Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group headquartered in Massachusetts.

Great Dog Rescue New England needs foster homes! As a shelterless rescue, we don’t have a building where our dogs are housed until they get adopted. We are lucky enough to have loving families who open their hearts and homes to our dogs until they are placed, but we need more foster homes so we can save more dogs. If you can’t foster, we’re always looking for volunteers to help with home visits, s

creen applications, and to help with special events, so there are lots of ways you can help. Every month we save dozens of wonderful dogs from local and Southern kill shelters and place them in safe, nurturing homes. Please consider joining us in this effort; we would love to have you!

Meet the ROBOT pups!
Thorn, Vontra and Roz are almost 6 months old. We are guessing they are some mix of Lab / Shepherd.
As of 12/18/24, Roz Robot weighs 30 pounds.

"Roz Robot is a gentle baby with a heart of gold! He is precious, and loves being around his people. He is great with kids and very well socialized other dogs. Meet Stella Shimmer
a ~1 year old, Catahoula Leopard Dog / Dachshund mix, who was found as a stray and weighs 32 pounds.
Stella Shimmer gets her name from her icy blue eye that shimmers and catches your attention immediately!

Her foster shares
"Stella Shimmer is oh-so-sweet and all this girl wants is to love you and be loved. She craves attention for sure! She comes when called and stays very close to you when she is outside and playing. But inside around her people is her favorite too!! She is very smart and longs to please her humans - which luckily means she will be easy to train! She learns things so quickly!! She appears to be housebroken and hasn't had an accidents. She is currently living with our cat but our cat is unwilling to interact - so we aren't sure what Stella's reaction would be. Although we haven't seen her around little kids she is very submissive so we are guessing she will love any size human who loves her. She is incredibly sweet and can't wait to find a forever family to call her own."

These sweet babies are ready to BRANCH out and have some fun with their forever families. Just like a tree, the Willow puppies are always growing and ready to spread love.

The WILLOW puppies were born on 10/27/24 to their mama, Willow Momma. Willow Momma was found as a stray after being abandoned by her previous family. Willow Momma was found alone in an empty house, and luckily the landlord found her and knew to reach out to us for help. Shortly after entering our care, she gave birth to her babies.

Oreo Willow and her siblings are adorable, sweet, lovable puppies who are looking for their forever families. They are roughly ~9 weeks old, and are Lab mixes. We included a picture of Willow Momma for reference, and she weighs 50 pounds so we can expect roughly the same for her babies once they are fully grown. These puppies are all happy, healthy, and ready to find their forever families!

Meet Richie!
Richie is a 4-year-old, 85-pound lab mix with a heart full of love and a penchant for cuddles! Sadly, Richie and his brother Kenny were surrendered when their family could no longer afford to care for them. For over a year, Richie has been waiting for the right family to give him a second chance, and now he’s ready to bring joy and love to your home. Kenny has a local foster lined up and we are hoping and praying to find someone to take Richie so that BOTH dogs can come North.

Richie is a true cuddle bug who will shower you with kisses and affection. He loves being outside, especially for long walks where he can explore the world around him. In his previous home, he lived with kids and cats, and he did wonderfully with both—he’s gentle, friendly, and eager to please.

Meet the four precious EVERYTHING pups who are currently 6 week old Golden Retriever/Boxer mix pups (with probably with a few other great breeds thrown in).
They currently are 6 tiny pounds of joy (as of 12/30/24)!
Found abandoned on a rural road in Georgia on Christmas EVE - these EVErything pups are sure to win your heart over just on looks alone!

But there is more to them than just good looks for sure. They are also full of sweetness and joy! They are the best kind of happy, silly, playful, loving pups who will fit into just about any family situation as long as you have the time to love them and train them well. And their Georgia foster mom uses one of our favorite words to describe them.....DARLING!

Meet Ashley (aka Ashe)
a just over 2 year old, 40 pound, Thai Ridgeback/Terrier mix gal.

Ashley hails from Mississippi.
The poor girl had been very malnourished when she came to us. But after a short time in foster she was healthy, happy and thriving! Her foster says that Ashley has the softest fur have ever felt - it is like velvet. And she is gorgeous too - with the most striking green eyes.

Her foster mom shares
"This gal affectionate and playful and a total LOVE BUG!!! She is sweet and eager to please, and loves belly rubs and attention. And she is a world class snuggler too. She does well with other dogs and also does well with older kids. She knows the commands sit and no, and is working on stay as well. She likes to learn so we know with some training she will have even more commands she masters. She is about 95% housebroken (and understands how to use p*e pads). Her prior living situation her person was out a lot of hours so left p*e pads for her as well - but with a family that can take her out on a schedule she will be 100% in no time at all. She loves going for walks and is great on a leash - she will pull when she sees a squirrel or bunny because she likes to say hello to everyone and everything on her walks. But we are working on that. And she is great in the car and loves car rides so you can take this gal anywhere. She loves stuffies, rawhide, pb kongs, day camp, and wrestling with her sister. She is sweet, cuddly, and goofy. She is cautious but friendly around new people. Once you are allowed into her circle of trust, she lets her guard down and is always at your side wanting scratches, cuddles kisses and love. She's medium energy, gets the zoomies at times but loves to curl up and nap as well. Ashe is going to make a wonderful companion!"

Meet Papa Bear
a 5 year old, Shepherd / Plott Hound/ Who Knows What But Handsome Rescue Mutt mix, who weighs 50 pounds. When we rescued him as a stray, we quickly gave him his name 'Papa Bear' because he had been living on the streets and it was clear he was the main protector of the other pups and wanted to make sure everyone was safe.

"Papa Bear is a handsome boy. He has a very loving and protective nature of a Shepherd with an outgoing, friendly, and playful personality to match! He is a very lovable boy who can't get enough attention from his humans. He will lean into you for extra snuggles and back scratches. He is just so sweet. Papa Bear does great with other dogs and is so sweet and gentle with children. He is your typical southern gentleman and has very polite manners. He will do great in a home where he can snuggle on the couch and be a part of a loving family!"

Meet the POLAR pups!
These brothers are the coolest pups in the pack. They are a big blizzard of love and are sure to warm your heart on even the coldest of days.

Nick Polar and his brother, Gabe Polar, are 8 week old, Australian Shepherd / Jack Russell Terrier mixes, who weigh about 12 pounds.

"River is a very friendly dog who makes friends everywhere she goes. She does great with kids (7 YO+) and is very sweet with them. She loves to play and is very polite when greeting new friends. She is currently with a group of dogs her size and she does really well with them. She doesn't need to be the alpha, and also is not submissive - she's just there to have a good time! She plays with all dogs and doesn't have any preference on her BFF. She has blended in very well with all the pups and we are hoping to help sweet River find her forever family! She does well on the leash and seems to be housebroken. We know the perfect person / family is out there and she can't wait to meet you!"

Meet Ryder
a just over 7 month old, Boston Terrier / Chihuahua mix, who weighs 12 pounds.

There is one thing in life that makes this boy happier than anything else, KIDS!
A family with kids is a must for him!
He adores them more than anyone or anything.
And if you have other dogs he will make the perfect pack member.

Ryder is a happy boy with the most adorable underbite. In photos the occasional snaggle tooth makes you instantly smile. He is quirky, cute, full of personality, chatty when he feels he needs to be and will easily fit into just about any routine. Ryder does favor kids and women to men BUT, he does love men also…just on his terms. He is living in a foster home with a family: Mom, Dad, 6 year old boy and four dogs and does perfectly with everyone.

Ryder is an active little guy who also LOVES to snuggle up. He is always looking for a lap to call his. Apartment living won’t be for Ryder since he feels the need to vocally protect you from every noise monster that might be coming. He will quickly quiet when addressed, but close apartment neighbors probably won’t appreciate his effort to keep his people safe.

He is crate trained, house trained and has great manners. It’s clear he has lived indoors before since he is such a good boy.
