Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group headquartered in Massachusetts.

Great Dog Rescue New England needs foster homes! As a shelterless rescue, we don’t have a building where our dogs are housed until they get adopted. We are lucky enough to have loving families who open their hearts and homes to our dogs until they are placed, but we need more foster homes so we can save more dogs. If you can’t foster, we’re always looking for volunteers to help with home visits, s

creen applications, and to help with special events, so there are lots of ways you can help. Every month we save dozens of wonderful dogs from local and Southern kill shelters and place them in safe, nurturing homes. Please consider joining us in this effort; we would love to have you!

Meet Bandit
a 9 week old, Boxer mix, who weighs 10 pounds.
Bandit was found as a stray pup (with his brother, Smokey) and he's looking for a forever family to call his own!

"Bandit is a handsome boy! He is your typical puppy, who is friendly and playful! He gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. He is so cute when he gets his zoomies, but generally speaking he’s just happy to hang out and cuddle with his humans. He is just precious and loves getting belly rubs and attention. He hasn't been around kids since entering our care, but wiht his playful personality, I'm sure he'd do just fine with kiddos! Someone (or some family) will be so lucky to bring this guy home!"

Tess Terrific
and her siblings are 8 week old, Blue Lacy / Shepherd mixes.
Tess weighs 6 pounds.

Tess Terrific is as sweet as can be! Tess Terrific is the social butterfly of the litter, and she is always eager to meet new friends (two-legged or four-legged!). She is affectionate and loves giving puppy kisses. Tess is the perfect mix of playful and curious, making her a great companion for any family.

The TERRIFIC pups are still young and will need families committed to their training. Since they're still young and well socialized, these pups should be fine with other dogs, kiddos and cats (with proper introductions). They are adorable, loving, playful pups who are so excited to find their forever families!

Meet Herbie
a 3 year old, Airedale mix, who weighs 70 pounds. This scruffy guy was found lying in a ditch in a very rural area. He immediately stole the hearts of his rescuers! While we aren't sure what his story is, we know this guy is a lover and he deserves to find his happy ending!

“Herbie is a handsome guy who has a very calm demeanor. He has gotten along great with all pups he's met since entering our care. He hasn't met any kids or cats since being with us, but he's super friendly so I'm sure he would do just fine! He walks like a gentleman on his leash and knows "sit". “Smokey Blue is a gentle, lovely, little guy. He is bashful at first but then opens up and is super social and happy 24/7! He loves all people, and since he's still young, we know he'd be great with kids and cats (with proper introductions). He is absolutely precious. He would love to join an active family who he can go for hikes with and explore the world around him. Smokey Blue is food motivated which should help with his training. He'll need a family committed to his training, since he's still a young pup (and lots of toys as distractions). “Larry is a handsome pup who has the prettiest crystal blue eyes! He is a fun, outgoing, loving, and oh-so-sweet. He loves everyone he meets, and is wonderful with other dogs. 𝗔 𝘄𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗱𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀.

The Reliable pups are about 8 weeks old as of 2/23/25. These sweet babies were born while in our care, and their momma was a full Bloodhound who weighed about 110 pounds. We aren't sure what their daddy was, but we know they are 100% cute! They are a very friendly group of puppies and are oh-so-sweet. These pups will need families who are committed to their training since they are still very young.

As of 2/23/25, Rufus Reliable weighs 13.5 pounds. He has the CUTEST wrinkles you've ever seen!!

Meet Butterball Destiny
an adorable 2 year old Bull Terrier/Boxer mix born to Destiny Momma who currently weigh approximately 50 pounds.

The Destiny dogs just can't catch a break! First they were strays. Then they were in foster and survived the tornado in Mississippi, and their foster has lost their home. And now they have been waiting and waiting and waiting for homes!!! You can see by the puppy picture just how long! Puppies growing up in rescue just breaks our hearts! And we just don't get it. We really want them to fulfill their destiny of being a loved, pampered family dog!

Butterball has the most gorgeous brindle coloring and adorable white paws.

These pups and their momma were pulled from a bad situation in Mississippi where they were neglected and barely fed. But they are safe now and we are so happy we can move them north and find them forever families to give them a great future! And if these pups are even half as sweet as their foster says momma is then they have plenty of sweetness to spare!

These pups are energetic, happy, healthy and playful little things. We left up a "baby" picture of each too. And they just keep getting cuter! They love playing with each other, other dogs, and with toys. And they absolutely LOVE human attention from adults and kids alike.

We have no doubt if you choose one of these as your family's destiny you will be glad you did!

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗳𝗳𝘆 𝗯𝗼𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵 𝗡𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗪𝗘𝗘𝗞 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝘄𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗵𝗼𝗺𝗲!!

Meet Ferguson,
a 10 month old Husky/Airedale mix guy who was found as a stray in Tennessee.
He weighs 60 pounds.

Ferguson is a really cool looking boy!
He looks like a husky mixed with an Airedale terrier. He has chocolate and white wirey/curly fur with grey undertones.

His foster shares
"This boy is a wonderful companion. He loves being petted and cuddled and loves playing fetch! He is very fun and outgoing. He does seem to have lot to say like a husky does. He just always wants to make friends and will complain when you won’t let him play with a dog he can see. We describe him as loving, gentle, and well mannered. He is wonderful with other dogs. And we think he would be great with kids too. He gets along with the household cat too (it took a couple days to get over his excitement though(. He’s just a beautiful fellow who will blend really well into a new family who likes the husky personality and energy. He just seems happy to be loved. He will make a wonderful hiking buddy. We can't wait to see him living his best life with a lucky northern family!"

𝗖𝗼𝘀𝗺𝗼 𝗖𝘂𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝘄𝗮𝗴𝘀 𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘅𝘆, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿.

Meet Cosmo Curly
a handsome, 2 year old, Labradoodle mix, who weighs about 66 pounds. This golden guy was found as a stray in a rural Tennessee State Park and is looking for a family to love!

Cosmo Curly is a lovable, energetic, goofy guy! He loves to be around people, and while he can initially be standoffish around strangers, once he warms up, he is a ball of love. While he does fine with other dogs, he's definitely a people person who loves to be with his humans. Since he's a high energy guy, we'd recommend an active and kid-free home (we don't want any littles getting knocked over). We recommend a cat-free home, as well, for Cosmo Curly because he can't seem to leave them alone and has high prey drive. He is housebroken and knows basic commands, and is continuing to work on his leash etiquette. While you may want to cuddle up with Cosmo Curly on the couch to watch a movie, we recommend eliminating any access to furniture (couches / beds) because he will quickly take over the space and make it his own! He also can be wary of vet visits so will need a patient owner / family who can help him to feel comfortable in these settings. He is VERY food motivated which helps with his training. This sweet boy is fluffy, fun and full of love. He's ready to find a forever family to call his own! If you're looking for a real life teddy bear, look no further than Cosmo Curly!

Meet Brownie
a 2 year old, Shepherd mix, who weighs 48 pounds. Brownie has had a rough start, but she’s ready to leave her past behind and find her forever family. She’s smart, affectionate, and absolutely hilarious!

Her foster shares
“This sweet girl will instantly steal your heart - and we think her ears deserve their own zip code! She is smart and knows her basic commands, and we're continuing to work with her on house breaking (and she's been using the bell method and doing great with it. Brownie is fantastic with kids and would love a doggy BFF to hang out with (not a requirement, but would be an added bonus for this girl). Brownie LOVES walks. She has amazing recall, so she’s basically the perfect sidekick for outdoor adventures. Brownie is fine with spending some time in her crate when you are out of the house and no one is there to supervise her. She takes her job seriously of keeping your bed warm (especially during the cold New England winter nights) - so hopefully her forever family is OK with that. If you’re ready to bring home a lovable, sweet little Brownie with a heart full of love, then Brownie is your girl! She’s ready to be your loyal companion, your walking buddy, your conversation starter, babysitter...the list goes on!"

𝗞𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘀𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗯𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗽𝘂𝗽𝘀 𝗲𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝘁𝗼 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗳𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗲𝘀. 🏡

Meet Jett Winter
one of the adorable WINTER pups who are 9 week old Boxer/Black Lab mix pups.

These dogs come from Georgia - where their poor mom was giving birth to this litter on 12/3/24 and she had a very hard time and couldn't take care of the babies.
They have been in loving foster homes since they were just 2 days old. The litter currently weighs between 8-13 pounds.

"The Winter pups are sweet and adorable babies who really enjoy life and playing with each other. They are cute and cuddly and full of love! They will of course need families committed to training and exercise like any young pup would need. Jett and Maggie are together and they are doing so well with my dogs and my cat. They are quick learners and already know commands like sit, outside, kennel (crate). And they are doing amazing with potty training! Leash training is my next focus for them. They are so precious and are going to make a northern family very happy!!"
