Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group headquartered in Massachusetts.

Great Dog Rescue New England needs foster homes! As a shelterless rescue, we don’t have a building where our dogs are housed until they get adopted. We are lucky enough to have loving families who open their hearts and homes to our dogs until they are placed, but we need more foster homes so we can save more dogs. If you can’t foster, we’re always looking for volunteers to help with home visits, s

creen applications, and to help with special events, so there are lots of ways you can help. Every month we save dozens of wonderful dogs from local and Southern kill shelters and place them in safe, nurturing homes. Please consider joining us in this effort; we would love to have you!

Meet Millie Mellow
a beautiful gal who was found as a stray with her sister Maggie Mellow in Mississippi. Here sister Maggie was adopted nine months ago - but poor Millie has been looking for her forever family for over a YEAR now!
Millie is a 45 pound, Plott Hound/Boxer mix gal.
She is really smaller than she looks because she is a petite gal.

We added one of her original rescue pictures so you can see how far this girl has come - and why she deserves all your love!! She and her sister were found wondering around someone’s house and supposedly their former owner couldn’t afford to feed them - so our rescue partner sent money until she could make the drive to get them a week later. They were absolutely starving when they came to rescue, so we assumes the former owner was using the money for other things and not the dogs.
It was heartbreaking!

Millie is a young soul who's as sweet as sugar. She's a cuddly companion whose gentle nature is sure to warm your heart! Millie can be a little shy, but don't let that fool you. She's friendly to all who show her kindness. Millie's trust isn't given lightly, it's earned. Speak to her softly, with patience and love, and you'll find a loyal friend for life. She's a loving dog whose heart is as big as her spirit. Her soft whimpers and wagging tail tell a story of a pup who just wants to love and be loved. Meet Pukita
a 4 year old, Pug / Cairn Terrier mix, who weighs about 15 pounds. This girl definitely has luck on her side and has had quite the journey.

Pukita grew up in Mexico and unfortunately was found as a stray at a landfill. The workers called a local rescue and they were desperately trying to re-home about 30 cats + dogs and would bring them to a local park to find potential homes on the weekends. It was Pukita's lucky day because it just so happened that the GDRNE team was visiting Mexico and was walking through the park when they came across this sweet girl.
It's been a long journey to get this girl medical records and a passport, but we're happy to say that she is coming to New England at the end of June, and now she is looking for a family to love and call her own.

"Pukita is a love bug!! She is so sweet and friendly and is great with dogs and cats, too. She loves everyone she meets and makes friends everywhere she goes. She listens well, walks well on the leash and is crate trained, too. While she is crate trained, she enjoys sleeping in bed with her humans - can ya blame her?! She is such a sweet girl and is ready to find her fairytale ending with a loving family!"

Meet Harvey Sunset,
an 11 month old, Hound mix who currently weighs 50 pounds.

Harvey and his siblings were found and brought in when they were quite sick. With lots of care and love they have made full recoveries and are ready to start their lives.

Harvey is a total goofball, he will keep you entertained for hours! He loves water and dirt. Playtime is also a favorite of his and he's always ready to play with his ropes. He is great with people and loves other pups!

Because of his young age he will need an adopter who is committed to training to help him become the best dog that he can be.

Meet Missy Beans
an 8 week old, Catahoula / Lab mix, who weighs 8 pounds (as of 6/6/25). These pups were born on 4/1/25 and were brought to us when they were only 3 days old because their momma passed away unexpectedly. Missy Beans and her siblings have grown up in our care and they are happy, healthy and ready to find their forever families!

Missy Beans is growing into a giant love bug. She comes in and climbs on the sofa and will stare at her humans until they come and sit down and pet her. She loves to be around people as well as other dogs, too. She's still young and will need a family who is committed to her training.

Meet Smoke (brother to Stack)!
These boys were found as local strays, and appear to be Pointer / Black Lab mixes. As of 6/10/25, we are guessing they are about 3 months old and Smoke currently weighs 12 pounds.
Stack is adopted and coming North and we are all hoping to find a family for Smoke so that he can join his brother and come North for his happily ever after!

Smoke and his brother are sweet little puppies! They are being fostered in a house with young boys who named this duo after a popular cartoon. Smoke is a super sweet gentle puppy. He’s very easy going and get along with everyone. He’s got a gentle soul and will make a great companion for children. He doesn’t seem too loud and just seems easy to manage as far as puppies go. He's still a young pup, so he will need a patient family who will continue his training. We know he’s going make a great addition to your home!

a 7 month old, Mountain Cur / Hound mix, who weighs 36 pounds. Tandy was found as a stray with her sisters after they were abandoned in the middle of nowhere. We're so happy we found them because we know Tandy is going to be the best pup to the lucky families who get to bring her home!

Tandy is the last of her siblings to be adopted and we are hoping with a little luck she can get adopted and travel North with her siblings.

"Tandy is a beautiful brindle pup who loves everyone and every dog she meets! She has a playful, outgoing, loving nature about her - and the perfect amount of puppy shenanigans to keep you on your toes! She is always ready for an adventure - even if that 'adventure' is a cuddle session on the couch. She is great with every dog she meets (and kids, too!), and she loves to explore the outdoors. She shines with other dogs and would do great in a home with resident dogs (but not necessary). Tandy would do great in an active household, and she's ready to find her family!"
