Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group headquartered in Massachusetts.

Great Dog Rescue New England needs foster homes! As a shelterless rescue, we don’t have a building where our dogs are housed until they get adopted. We are lucky enough to have loving families who open their hearts and homes to our dogs until they are placed, but we need more foster homes so we can save more dogs. If you can’t foster, we’re always looking for volunteers to help with home visits, s

creen applications, and to help with special events, so there are lots of ways you can help. Every month we save dozens of wonderful dogs from local and Southern kill shelters and place them in safe, nurturing homes. Please consider joining us in this effort; we would love to have you!

Meet Spencer Squeaky Dixie
a sweet 13 week old, rescue mutt mix, who weighs 17 pounds.

His Southern foster shares:
"Spencer is incredibly outgoing and smothers you with affection as soon as he gets the chance. He loves playin with his siblings and anyone else who will interact with him. He is very well socialized and does great with other dogs of all ages / sizes and cats, too! He is loving and playful. His favorite toy currently is an empty plastic water bottle. He loves treats and seems to be very food motivated, which should help with training. He will make a wonderful addition to a loving and active family!"

Meet Jack Nimble
a 9 month old, German Shepherd (we believe pure breed), who weighs 52 pounds. This boy came to us through an owner surrender and is ready to find his forever family!

Meet Lainey Diamonds
a beautiful, 3 year old, Yellow Lab / Golden Retriever / Great Pyrenees mix, who weighs about 70 pounds.
Sweet Lainey was found as a stray with her BFF, Carrie Diamonds. Unfortunately, both girls were heart worm positive when they entered our care. We're happy to report that they are both now healthy and happy and so excited to start their new lives with their forever families!

Carrie has been adopted and now it's Lainey's turn to find her furever home!

"Lainey is super sweet and very personable! She enjoys being around people and is eager to please. She walks great on a leash (just look at her videos!) and has a very outgoing personality. She is very confident and fun to be around. Her coat is a bit thicker than a Lab which is why we are guessing she is part Pyrenees or Retriever. She is an absolutely sweetie and you will fall in love with her instantly! Other than her BFF Carrie, she also gets along great with all other dogs in foster care. Meet Santa Miguel.
He is the cutest little low rider of all his siblings.
He and his siblings were surrendered to us by their previous owner. They are 18 week old, Jack Russell Terrier mixes, who weigh about 8 pounds. Their momma was 23 pounds (full grown) and is a beautiful soft coated Jack Russell mix - we aren't sure who their daddy was!

"Santa Miguel is an adventurous little puppy. He loves to explore and examine everything indoors and outdoors. He also always tries to look cute just in case someone notices and would like a picture. He gets along great cats and dogs but also does good at entertaining himself. This precious baby would love to be part of an amazing family who is also adventurous and active and loves to play!"

She is a fun-loving, easy going girl, who was found as a stray.

"Midnight is being cared for by her wonderful rescuer. She has a doggy door that she uses when she needs to go outside, and has been left alone at home when running errands and does great! She loves to cuddle and gets along great with our other resident doggy. She loves to be around people and is incredibly friendly. She will need a family who is dedicated to training when it comes to her leash etiquette, and we would recommend a cat-free home. She is a smart girl who will make a loyal addition to a loving family!"

Meet Ollie
a two year old, 50 pound, Boxer/Black Lab mix boy from Mississippi.

Poor Ollie did not have an easy life before coming into rescue.
He came to us malnourished, dehydrated, and had lost all his fur from a collar that had been imbedded and caused infection in his neck. But somehow this never stopped him from being a friendly, loving, outgoing pup. Oh the resilience of dogs!!

His foster says
"Ollie is a gentle soul with a playful spirit. His cuddly nature is sure to warm your heart, while his independent streak shows his resilience. Despite his shy demeanor, Ollie is quick to make friends and cherishes outdoor adventures. His thin fur and scarred neck, the marks of a challenging past, don't define him. Instead, they are a testament to his strength and perseverance. Ollie's past life on the street has only heightened his appreciation for the simple joys of life. a beautiful, 3-4 year old, Saint Bernard mix, who weighs approximately 100 pounds (as of 8/8/24). This gentle giant was surrendered to us because her previous owner could no longer care for her. This girl has big paws, a big heart, and gives even bigger hugs!

"Kota is a sweet, giant teddy bear! She is very friendly, and loves playing around with dogs of all sizes - ranging from large breeds, to the small / medium pups. She is house broken, does well on a leash, and is crate trained. Since being in foster care is a new experience for her, she's getting more and more comfortable each day. "Because they were found as strays, these two boys can be a bit shy initially but warm up very quickly once they get to know you! They love to play around with the other pups at the rescue and get along great with other dogs of all ages and sizes. These boys do great with their crate training and keep their spaces very clean. We're working with them on their leash training, but know that these boys will make wonderful additions to loving families who are looking for a 4 legged friend!"

a 6 month old, Bulldog / Boxer mix boy, who weighs 32 pounds. Hank and his siblings were found as strays, and were dumped with his litter mates in various locations. We're so happy we found them and are able to give them a second chance at life and love!

"How cute are Hank's ears?! He is your typical playful pup who is always on the go! He does great with our other resident dogs (50 #) and his other litter mates in foster care. We are working with him on his manners and teaching him what it means to be loved. He gets very excited at meal time! He will need a family committed to training to help him become the best doggy citizen he can be. He is a friendly guy who loves making new friends wherever he goes. Hank can't wait to find a forever family to call his own!"

These sweet babies were born to a stray mama in a carport, and we're so happy we can help them find their forever families!

These adorable babies were born on 5/12/24 and are about 13 weeks old. They are Beagle mixes, who weigh around 6-8 pounds. These babes are typical pups, who are very sweet and loving and love to explore the world around them. They love to be around kids, and do fine around cats. They will make wonderful family pets, or loyal companions! They are so excited to start their new lives with their forever families.

Bambi Bath and her siblings were found as strays after being born under a porch. Unfortunately their momma was a stray who we could not catch, but her babies are happy and healthy under our care!

Posey
a 2 year old, Hound mix, who weighs approximately 40 pounds. This sweet tripaw was found as a stray and when she entered our care, she had puppies and a shattered leg. She was found at a hunting camp and had clearly been abandoned.
She was emaciated and clearly in pain and gave her puppies 100% of her energy to keep them alive.
We're happy to report that all of her pups have found their forever homes and now it's Posey's turn!
After amputating her back leg, we have nursed Posey back to health and have watched her heal, learn to trust humans, gain weight, and love again. It has been quite a journey, but Posey is happy, healthy and ready to find her forever family!

Meet Anna,
a 2 year old, 45 pound, Jindo mix gal.

Her foster shares:
"Anna is a very sweet girl! We have only heard her bark 3 times in the four months we have had her. Anna is currently living with three giant breed dogs and one dog/puppy smaller than her. She has preferred to be more of a loner but most of the time stays close to her people. Recently, Anna has started playing with the other dogs for short periods. She gets along with all the dogs, five of whom are girls and even played with the grumpy senior boy. In fact she seems to like him best!
Anna is house trained and crate trained although she does not use her crate any more because she is fine being loose in the home.
She enjoys lying on the porch or in the yard watching the world go by which is not very exciting since she lives on a quiet wooded short dead end street. Anna has put on some weight since being with her foster family so she is now on healthy weight dog food. Her feet are dainty and she has cute tan tipped ears and tail. Anna is not a big cuddler but always stays very close to her humans.
It has been determined that Anna has Lupus which is why her nose is darker. With medications her hair is growing back in although she may have an area of scar tissue that will not grow hair. Anna will be on medication to keep the Lupus under control and may occasionally require a course of steroids if she has a flare up. It is only on her skin and does not otherwise seem to show any symptoms.
Anna is a very sweet girl and will make a perfect companion for a low to medium energy family. And she would probably enjoy not having so many “siblings.” Her foster parents have taught her only to “sit” but she would likely enjoy learning more commands. She is good on a leash and would enjoy learning more about leash walking. If you are looking for a nice quiet, faithful companion and friend Anna may be your girl!"

Arthur is proof that you don't need 4 legs in order to stand tall. He's got 3 legs and a whole lotta heart.

Meet Arthur
a handsome, 3-4 year old, Beagle / Golden Retriever mix, who weighs 45 pounds. When we found this sweet boy, he had been running up and down the interstate with a broken leg for over a month. We had tried to catch up but he was so distraught and confused. Once we finally got this sweet boy, we rushed him to the vet immediately to have his leg looked at. Unfortunately, his leg was not salvageable but he hadn't been using it since the break. Once he entered our care, Arthur was so gentle and trusting and honestly, we think he was just so grateful to be finally getting help and care. After his surgery, he has settled into his shelter life nicely!

He has had to spend some time in the crate while he recovers, but when he is playing, he gets along with the other dogs great! Everyone loves Arthur. He seems to be so content and happy to be alive and loved. We haven't heard him bark once... This well behaved and well mannered boy deserves the best home ever an a family who will love him unconditionally! We are so excited to find him his perfect match!

Meet the David Lee Songwriter.
He is a 9 week old, Husky mix pup and weighs 12 pounds.
He is such a special pup with his BEAUTIFUL blue eyes!

His northern foster mom shares,
"David Lee is not only utterly adorable, he’s definitely the easiest puppy we’ve ever had! He’s very smart and learned ‘sit’ on his first day with us. He’s also picking up on housebreaking incredibly quickly for his age, with only a couple indoor incidents each time conveniently on the p*e pad. He enjoyed meeting several people of all ages recently and everyone keeps commenting that he is so calm. He’s a very calm, quiet, sweet boy! He has his playful puppy moments and can be really goofy and funny but he’s also perfectly content just laying down on the floor next to your feet chilling. He was thrilled to meet our three resident dogs and enjoys following them around trying to keep up with them. He’s adapted so easily that I feel like he could fit into any type of household well. And who can resist those crystal blue eyes?"

2 month old, Heeler / Hound mixes, who weigh around 5 pounds. Tinker and her siblings were surrendered due to neglect. They are all happy and healthy and ready to meet their forever families!

These babies are the sweetest, and seem to have wonderful hound-like personalities - they are friendly, eager to please and love to be loved! Since they are still young, they will need a family who is committed to all the puppy training. We know that they will be great for any family and will get along great with other resident dogs and kiddos. They have so much love to give and can't wait to find a family to call their own. Nevaeh Lemonade
is an almost 19 week old, Aussie / Boxer mix pup, who weighs 16 pounds. Nevaeh and her litter mates are chunky, wrinkly, adorable pups! They are all healthy and happy and are ready to meet their forever families to get the life they deserve! They are very playful and love being around the other dogs in foster care, and LOVE to be around kids!!!

This litter came to us from a sad hoarding situation and are now ready to find their forever family. You know what they say... when life hands you lemons, you make lemonade! These pups are bursting with personality and a zest for life and are ready to start their life with a loving family.

𝗦𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗻𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗴𝗶𝗿𝗹. 💗

Meet Rilee
a 3 year old, American Bulldog mix, who weighs approximately 35-40 pounds. She loves everyone and everything - people, kids, dogs, cats!

When we found this sweet girl as a stray, she was very emaciated, was missing some fur due to lack of nutrition and was close to losing all hope. Despite all of this, she still had the sweetest and gentlest heart! We're happy to report that this sweet girl has been nursed back to health and has so much love to give! She is ready to find her forever family!

“Rilee is such a special girl. You can see from her pictures that she is a petite (yet chunky) American Bulldog mix who has a heart of gold. Rilee loves people and is always so happy to get back scratches from her humans. She loves to go for rides in the truck and help out on the farm. She will nudge her head into you to get extra loving and will happily follow you wherever you go. Rilee is a very happy-go-lucky girl now that she is healthy and understands what it means to be loved. She also gets along great with other dogs, and LOVES children. We could go on and on about Rilee and how amazing she is. We know the perfect family is out there waiting for her, and she can't wait to meet you!"
