Great Dog Rescue New England (GDRNE) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit, shelterless, all-breed rescue group headquartered in Massachusetts.

Great Dog Rescue New England needs foster homes! As a shelterless rescue, we don’t have a building where our dogs are housed until they get adopted. We are lucky enough to have loving families who open their hearts and homes to our dogs until they are placed, but we need more foster homes so we can save more dogs. If you can’t foster, we’re always looking for volunteers to help with home visits, s

creen applications, and to help with special events, so there are lots of ways you can help. Every month we save dozens of wonderful dogs from local and Southern kill shelters and place them in safe, nurturing homes. Please consider joining us in this effort; we would love to have you!

Meet Dixie Darling
a 1.5 year old, Australian Shepherd / Pyrenees mix, who weighs about 55 pounds.

"Dixie Darling is a big, beautiful girl who has a wonderful personality! She’s housebroken, crate trained, and walks nicely on a leash. Dixie Darling loves to play with toys and can happily entertain herself for hours with her favorites. She does well with cats and has previously lived with other dogs. We've found she prefers to surround herself with friendly male dog or be the solo dog, so either of those scenarios would be best for this girl! Dixie Darling is a great girl who’s clearly been raised with love and patience as she has excellent manners. She’s ready to make an easy, happy transition into her new home and family and can't wait to meet you!"

Meet Tanning
a 5 1/2 year old, 85 pound, Cattle Dog mix!

This sweet boy was unfortunately surrendered originally to the vet because the previous owner said he wasn't getting along with other dogs. Turns out Tanning is just a ladies man! He is fine with females, but just doesn't want to be around other males.

And how this handsome boy has been posted on our website more than a year we have no idea. Who wouldn't want to see that smile every day!!

"Tanning is a super laid back, sweet boy! He LOVES attention and would be a wonderful addition to a loving family. This ladies man is housebroken, and seems to be OK with cats (just no male dogs, please!). One look at sweet Tanning, and he will capture your heart - just look at his cute smile! Ansel Cider
and his siblings were surrendered to us in Tennessee. They are 10 week old, Catahoula / Lab mixes. As of 11/10/25, Ansel cider weighs about 12 pounds.

Ansel Cider is sweet, loving and full of puppy love! He loves to run and is always so happy to see his people. He isn’t hyper but he sure is playful. He loves the children he has met and has been very well socialized since entering our care. He is very eager to please and would make a great companion for just about any home. Since he's still young, he will need a family who is committed to his training. Ansel Cider is healthy, happy and ready to find his forever family before the holiday season!

𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸!
Meet Odali
a 4 year old, Border Collie mix, who weighs about 63 pounds. This gal was found as a stray in Mexico after found snooping around near the rescue. We're so happy we have been able to give her food, shelter and lots of love, and now we hope to find her a loving family who will give her a forever home!

Odali is an active girl who is incredibly affectionate! She is very smart and respects orders from her humans and understands basic commands. She is energetic and loves activities - walks, runs, hikes, you name it! Because of her physical size, she'll need some space to roam. She's currently living with 8 other dogs of various size and does great with all of them. She's such a sweet girl who has lots of love to give!

Meet Tara
an almost 2 year old, Mountain Cur mix, who weighs 47 pounds. This sweet girl was found as a stray in a busy intersection in Mississippi and her rescuers were shocked when they realized that she was giving birth to 9 beautiful babies!

"Tara is such a sweet & laid back girl. She was such a great momma and is now ready to be the center of attention. Her babies are happy, healthy and weaned and now Tara is ready to find her forever family. She loves her chew bones and is very quiet and sweet. She is a also a hugger! She loves to put her arms around your waist and hug you. She's such a love bug and is sure to show her future family unconditional love and loyalty."

𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁 𝗢𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗱 𝗢𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲
a 3 month old, Lab / Bulldog mix, who weighs about 14 pounds.
Orchid and her siblings were found as strays in Tennessee. They were found in the woods by a family who were selling their house. We're not sure how they ended up there - but we're so happy we found them when we did. These babies are a beautiful mixture of colors and could be a number of breeds mixed up! This gorgeous girl is ready to find her forever family!

Orchid Opalite is a sweet and happy girl who confident & brave! She likes greeting people and saying "hello" and you'll always see her with a smile and wagging tail. She also loves to be held. She is very playful and enjoys romping around with her siblings. She is beautiful and is ready for her next adventure with her new family. Since she is still young, she will need all puppy training (and the love and patience that go with it!). She will be great in any home and is sure to adapt quickly!

"Tony is a happy and lovable guy! He's always on the go and would do best with an active family who can bring him on adventures. He loves everyone he meets and makes friends everywhere he goes. He's met some children since entering our care and he's been great with them. He's also great with the other pups and plays with them and enjoys snuggling up with his buddies for a snooze. He rides well in the car and will gladly join you for adventures and be your co-pilot. He does best when he has activities to keep him busy. Overall, he's a wonderful, lovable, happy guy!"

"Zorro means “fox” in Spanish — and with his beautiful red coat, this Aussie mix definitely lives up to his name! He’s about 35 pounds and full of quiet charm. Zorro is a gentle, friendly boy who’s seems to be housebroken and is adjusting well to indoor life. He has a thoughtful, observant nature — always watching, learning, and taking in the world around him. Once he’s comfortable, his playful side shines through. Zorro loves to romp with other dogs, chase toys, and make people laugh with his funny little antics. He’s also learning to walk on a leash and enjoys riding in the car, especially if it means a treat at the end of the trip! Zorro would make a wonderful family dog — loyal, sweet, and ready to be someone’s best friend!"

Meet Snoopy
a 3 year old, Rat Terrier mix, who weighs about 18 pounds. Snoopy was found as a stray in Puerto Rico on a stormy day. She was all alone and we are so happy we were able to save her when we did!

Snoopy is absolutely adorable and has an amazing personality to match! This sweet girl is eager to receive the love she has never received before. She is the perfect size, weighing in at only 18 pounds, and would love to tag along with you on all your adventures. Snoopy is sweet, playful, friendly and oh-so-adorable. She is full of life and has done great in her foster home! She is potty trained, and loves to go for car rides and long walks. It is time for Snoopy to find a family who can love her and take care of her. She will be perfect addition to a loving family!

This sweet girl was surrendered to us in North Carolina, as her previous owner was suffering from dementia and could no longer care for this sweet girl.

"Maggie May is an adorable & sweet girl who loves to play with other dogs! She has a 40 lb brother and they have a ball playing and chasing each other through the yard. She'd love to find a family where she'd have a resident doggy BFF, but that's not a requirement. She enjoys tagging along for car rides and adventures and loves to go for walks. She is house broken and crate trained, too. She's your typical hound and likes to follow her nose, so we're working with her on her leash etiquette (and we'd recommend a fenced in yard where she can roam freely). This little lady is your typical beagle - a gal who is full of confidence , and prances around like she owns the place. We have no doubt that she will adjust quickly to her new home!"
