This little girl turns 13 today....❤️Everyday is another day with a golden. Kiley is my daughter, my friend, an excellent listener, a sibling to my boys, a mother, grandmother, an aunt to the LCC dogs and a mentor to animals and people in need. Although she has had some health issues in the last year, I'm praying we will have another trip around the sun.Please help me wish Kiley the best Birthday ever! 😀❤️🐾🐾🎈🦴🎁🎉

These girls are therapy dogs ready for adoption. This is a really hard adoption for me, so please read this carefully.
Must haves;
A Fenced yard preferably stocked with squirrels.
Another dog to play with.
A comfy sofa to rest their heads and paws.
A busy household preferably with children.

Testing Update for 2025!

Due to the nature of a therapy dog’s work, we have unanimously decided that dogs must pass the juggling portion of the Handling Assessment beginning in 2025. If your dog cannot juggle, they are no longer special enough to be considered a therapy dog and will no longer be certified with Alliance of Therapy Dogs. We do hope this is enough time for you to begin training if your dog cannot already juggle. ❤️ Thank you for your hard work and dedication to ATD.

Even though you might be tempted at times to share that snack with your dog, remember that there are certain artificial sweeteners that are either toxic (ie. Xylitol!) or might cause digestive issues for your dog and are best avoided. That's why *before* giving them that special treat take a second to read the labels on your food to decipher whether these are dangerous or safe for your bestie.

1️⃣ Ticks must attach for 24-36 hours before they can introduce most diseases, so daily tick checks are important if your pet goes outside!
2️⃣ Ticks can be very small, so using a fine-toothed comb can help ensure you find them all.
3️⃣ If you find a tick, carefully remove it and put it in rubbing alcohol for disposal.
4️⃣ Ticks tend to live in tall grass and brushy areas so keeping your pet on the trail (or inside) can help minimize exposure.
5️⃣ Keeping your grass cut and trimming or removing brush from your yard is also helpful.
6️⃣ Pharmaceutical preventives are an effective way to minimize disease transmission from ticks. Work with your veterinarian to devise the best prevention strategy for your dog or cat based on their location and lifestyle.
