There's No Place Like Home Mobile Pet Spa Proudly pampering dogs since 2004. Services available for residents of Howard County and Catonsville. Let's face it - I have a BIG service area. Don't fret!
(21)

If you are serious about becoming a client, there are somethings you should know. I am not able to service the entire county and surrounding areas in one day, so I have divided out service areas in specific routes. I service certain routes each day of the week that are grouped on 4 and 6 week grooming intervals. I do currently offer 8 week intervals on Thursdays but depending on the demand of 4 an

d 6 week routes I may have to phase that option out in the future. Due to my unique business and working on a routed system this mean's you have to be able to commit to a 4 or 6 schedule for the year. Because I work on a routed system and each of my clients commit to their schedule, there may not be availability in your area until something changes. I am happy to send you my new client intake form to gather your information to place you on my waiting list. As soon as something becomes available in your area I will contact you to set up your schedule. My goal is to provide all of my clients with a one on one grooming experience for those looking for steady, consistent, monthly to semi-monthly grooming services. I am no longer able to accommodate dogs that are over 40 pounds and those that are not on a regular schedule of 6 weeks or less. Mobile pet styling is designed with the client and canine in mind. Your pet will receive my undivided attention from start to finish in a quiet, climate-controlled, cage free setting without distractions of other dogs and the hustle and bustle of a busy grooming salon. Most appointments last an average of an hour to an hour and half and includes everything your pet would need. I offer a variety of shampoos and conditioners chosen specifically for your pets skin and coat needs, ear cleaning, teeth brushing, nail grinding, and blueberry facials are all included in the price of your pets spa bath. When it comes to grooming I am educated in breed specific trims, find great joy in Asian Fusion grooming styles or we can work on a custom creation that you have envisioned for your pets style. I am a 2004 graduate of the former Maryland School of Dog Grooming where I focused on learning the basics of AKC breed standard grooming techniques, safe handling and proper sanitation practices. I am currently a Nationally Certified Non-Sporting groomer with The National Dog Groomers Association of America and am working on becoming a National Certified Master Grooming through their program. I am also working on Pet Esthetician training courses. I am certified in pet first aid and CPR through the Red Cross and Pet Tech and hold my Veterinary Assistant Certificate. I look forward to continuing my education every year by attending seminars, expos and workshops. Some of my favorite classes have been Pet Massage, Reiki, The Science of Skin. As well as breed specific like hand stripping for Terriers and Special Handling for Senior Pets and Asian Fusion workshops. There is always something to learn and it is my goal to continue to do so, so that I am able to offer my clients and their pets the very best that I can.

Thank you for keeping me blessed and busy.

Due to having quite a waiting list and not being sure if or when I can accommodate those interested in addition to my current clients, I have decided to close my new client intake form for the foreseeable future.

If I happen to get a last minute reschedule I will post them here, so make sure to give a like and follow so you don't miss out!

Thank you again for all your support

There is some great weather coming up for hiking and getting out and about with our dogs.
Please be mindful of what water you let them come into contact with.

Unlike humans whose bodies are covered in sweat glands that help provide cooling through evaporation, dogs only truly sweat through their paw pads. Merocrine glands, also called eccrine glands, found in their hairless paw pads release a small amount of sweat to help cool themselves when they are hot. Obviously this is not the most efficient cooling method for our furry friends and is where panting comes into play.

The second type of sweat glands similarly found in humans and dogs are apocrine glands. These glands are found throughout the dog do not produce sweat, they produce pheromones that fortunately are odorless to humans and are used for dog to dog communication. 🐾

Did you know that the grooming industry is currently unregulated?

Thankfully there are many pet stylists that are dedicated and eager to continue their education to become proficient in all aspects of grooming from proper sanitation, handling, first aid and CPR.

Please do your research when hiring someone to provide services for your pet.

Did you know that pet grooming is a completely unregulated industry? There is no requirement for formal education, no required continuing education, and no required testing or certification?

Anyone and everyone can just pick up a pair of clippers and start advertising themselves as a groomer and charge people for a service they aren’t trained to perform.

It’s completely up to you, the owner, to do your research and make sure the person you are trusting with the health and safety of your pet is qualified to care for them.

Every groomer should be trained, and that very basic training takes months.

It takes years to truly master the ins and outs of grooming and everything that goes along with it.

Pet grooming is so much more than just a hair style.

*It’s knowing dog behavior and how to safely handle all the different personalities and quirks.

*It’s recognizing health conditions that would be better suited seeing a vet such as skin or ear infections.

*It’s being prepared for any and all emergencies that can happen, from seizures to allergic reactions, to nicks and cuts and quicked toenails without panicking.

*It’s knowing how to best deal with a variety of coat types properly.

*It’s being able to know when to stop a service on a particular dog due to behavior or health.

*It’s having the knowledge and patience to handle a different species while holding razor sharp clippers or 8 inch long scissors.

At the very least, the groomer you use should seek out continuing education to make sure they are current on the changes in the industry, from upgrades in products to tools that make the process easier for the pet and them.

They should be current on their pet cpr/first aid certification which needs repeated every couple of years.

They should be able to answer your grooming related questions with knowledge and confidence and if they don’t know the answer they should know where to find it.

They should have an emergency plan in place with a local veterinarian in case anything happens, because when working with animals it’s not a matter of if something happens, but when.

They should come recommended by other pet owners and pet professionals.

And it’s worth noting that there is nothing wrong with using a groomer that is still in training, but they should be working alongside an experienced groomer and under their direct supervision.

Ask the questions, after all you are paying them for a service. A groomer who has spent time and money to be as educated as possible is excited to share their knowledge!

Wishing my Mom a very happy birthday today!!
She doesn't come with me that often anymore but I cherish the extra time we've gotten to spend together since going mobile. Sometimes I have to wonder though if she really just comes along for all the puppy snuggles. 😉

Please keep your pups safe in these high temperatures! Know the signs of heat exhaustion.

It won't hurt them to skip a walk but it could very well hurt them to take them out for a walk in these high temperatures.
Play it safe, you find fun things to do in the house to keep them mentally stimulated.

We are in a heat advisory. Please keep your pets safe and review the following tips:
* Pets can dehydrate quickly, so keep plenty of fresh, clean water available.
* Make sure outside animals have access to shade and do not over exercise them.
*Know the symptoms of overheating in pets: excessive panting, difficulty breathing, increased heart rate, drooling, mild weakness, stupor or even collapse.
*Animal with flat faces such as Pugs, French Bulldogs and Persian cats are more susceptible to heat stroke.
*Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle unattended, the temperature can become deadly within minutes.
*Do not leave your pet unattended around a pool.
*Dogs with shaved coats need to be protected from sunburn.
*Do not let your dog linger on hot asphalt. Their bodies can heat up quickly absorbing heat from the road and their paw pads can burn.
