When having your dog groomed, talk to your groomer about a hairstyle that suits your lifestyle. If you want low-maintenance grooming without a fully shaved look, consider keeping some areas slightly longer, like Octavia’s pom-poms or Mico’s legs, which don’t require daily brushing. A full long coat is also an option, but it often requires daily brushing that many people find challenging to manage.

Dyeing Octavia blue helped her overcome shyness and fearfulness as a puppy. The bright color attracted more positive attention, encouraging people to interact with her and aiding her socialization. We used a pet-safe, non-toxic dye that washes out after a few baths, making the process harmless. Octavia enjoys the attention and petting during dyeing, making it a positive experience for her.
