This exercise is still a favorite after all these years :-) Slater and Sozo through the old preliminary water question :-) thank you so much to the Miller family for sharing him with us! :-)
The babies make me laugh on a daily basis:)
Happy holidays from our merry band of Bridlespur 4h elves!:)
Just getting home this morning from the RRP and am still processing:) it was amazing on so many fronts and i would love to do it again:) Punchie completely exceeded my expectations and was absolutely outstanding:) we did the jumpers on Wednesday and evented yesterday:) we showed and rode in 7 different arenas with an equal amount of atmosphere to the AEC's:) this video is nothing to write home about to other people but to me it is a massive deal for two reasons: 1, my youngest son was the only person with me for the week and the result is very, very limited pics and videos that will actually upload to my phone lol though we had a blast together and 2, right before this test our wheels totally came off. There was music and cheering from the covered arena and a busy warm up with a barrel racer going every which direction. I honestly thought i was going have to scratch for a minute there as my steering left the building and in the past the chances of recovering this were slim to none. I had to ask a random new friend if she would please take ahold of his bridle to walk him for 5 mins until they were ready for us. I then entered this arena that he had never been in, having just abandoned my warm up with only explosiveness and directionally challenged when asking for left lead canter. The fact that he showed up and put in this test after that and essentially showing for 5 days straight was mind blowing to me:) i was soo proud of him for this recovery and effort:) over the past year we made a plan based on what he seemed able to handle at the time and i honestly didn't know if he would be ready for this show in august, suspected he might in september and here we are on october finishing on our dressage score:) right up until the disclipline declaration, i was pretty certain that i wouldn't be able to event because i couldn't steer well enough for a dressage test. This was by far the biggest question i asked of him as far as everything: atmosphere, jumping courses, showing
Punchie was so much fun again this past weekend for a 2 day Waylon Roberts clinic:) we worked on suppleness and straightness:) thank you Timber Run for hosting:)
So much progress with Punchie in our first day of the Sharon White clinic:) we worked on dealing with the atmosphere, standing and being mannerly and our steering which currently comes and goes, with a good ol' fashioned down pour included in there as well:) so fun and happy with his effort:) the video appears to cut off on FB before he comes back and is lovely down the last line again with a hugely improved trot to finish:)
What a phenenominal week, my dears:):):) Allie, thank you for taking the time to make this awesome video!:) can't wait for next year peeps!:)
The good news is we are totally ready to show if there are no other horses at the show lol:)
Hopefully this will bring a smile to all the moms out there:):):)
The first of a certain chestnut's poor choices this a.m. :-) the next one included choosing not to frolic happily with Jericho and instead to break into Kingsley & CO's round bale :-)
Punchie:):):) snowpants and an ice storm and all:):):)
And for those of you that missed it...:)
Congratulations to everyone that showed at Revel Run this weekend!:) I was so proud of everyone especially because out of the 10 horse and rider combinations showing, 5 of them were totally new partnerships and mostly on greenbeans! That was soo fun!:) Lyndsay was 2nd in one Novice division, while Momo was 4th in the other. Deen was 2nd in one BN division while Molly was 5th in the other. Congratulations to Jules for winning one starter division and Bernie was 6th in the other:) love the grasshopper division where Allie was 3rd and Cameron finished 4th:) SS was super in the Novice with about five rides under their belt and Lola had a couple of awesome phases riding with what turned out to be a broken foot! Please enjoy this video of most of Bernie's first show jump round as i didn't get a single picture from the show:) Thank you Margaret for being a great help with Bernie and Deena and Jessica with your awesome assists for which i am so grateful. Thank you to Revel Run for putting on a great show and all of the super kind volunteers!:)
So excited to have everyone back out there!:)
Zekers living his best life:) Thank you Lori!:)
Ameals was back to her spicy self as she was so happy to jump around today at the Waylon Roberts clinic:) She just wanted to be sure that the spectators were on their toes:) So fun to get some of the horses out for the first time in 2022 and great riding peeps!:)
