Hello friends, please remember to keep your dog’s toys and balls out of the dog park if there are others there. Some dogs have a difficult time sharing and can get aggressive.

Good afternoon,

I have been informed that today and tomorrow the maintenance team will be working in the dog park. They will be trimming and spraying the areas around the gravel.

Please stay clear of the areas they are working on. To be completely safe I would recommend that you not go to the dog park until Wednesday so that the treatments have a full 24 hours to soak into the grass and w**ds.

Hello friends,

This morning I met with Paul who is charge of the maintenance here in town.

You will notice that the taller grass in the gravel area has been shortened with the w**d trimmers. Going forward we will be on schedule with the town when they do spraying of w**ds. We will be given at least 24 hours notice of when they are going to spray. On those days the dog park will be closed so that the chemicals can do their job and soak into the w**ds to kill them.

Also, Tuesday is the day of mowing at the dog park. They have asked us to kindly leave the area they are mowing ( when they are in the large dog side use the small dog park and vice versa) so they can do their job without interruptions or distractions. With that being said if you are uncomfortable commingling with dogs of different sizes and breeds you might want to wait until the afternoon to bring your dog to the park.

Please make sure you are picking up after your dog inside and outside of the fenced area. I have been seen more and more dog defecation in the last two weeks.

I am very pleased to announce that Cheryl Ouellette has graciously agreed to take on the role of President of the board of the Friends of the Chestertown Dog Park. Cheryl has all the right kinds of experience to support the Dog Park and advocate for our needs with the Town. Please join me in extending thanks and a warm welcome to Cheryl. You'll see her at the dog park--twice a day many days--with 5 month old Lucy the Aussie (or is she a mini-Aussie?).
