To our feral cat rescue community,
As most of you know, there is an unprecedented demand for low cost, high quality spay and neuter services nationwide. Our clinic has not been immune to this incredible demand for services. While the Ramona Humane Society has been—and continues to be—proud of our partnerships with feral cat organizations like yours, we are now forced to reevaluate our service priorities. Unfortunately, our previous level of veterinary support to feral cat organizations is unsustainable. If we do not make immediate changes, our clinic risks compromising the quality of healthcare provided to our animals and those who tend to them. Therefore, we are now forced to limit the high demand for our services and capacity at Ramona Humane Society’s spay/neuter clinic.
Effective immediately, Ramona Humane Society’s Spay/Neuter Clinic will implement the following service priority:
1. Our first priority and responsibility will be given to clients who have booked appointments with the Ramona Humane Society’s Spay/Neuter clinic.
2. Our second priority and responsibility will be given to animals currently in our shelter with the highest probability of leaving the shelter for their forever homes.
3. If service capacity and space is available, our third priority will be offered to feral cats from those organization’s members who have contacted the clinic to verify that space is available and who make an appointment. We can no longer offer drop-off services to unscheduled clients. You may call the clinic at (951) 654-3110 between 9-9:30am on the mornings we are open to check for availability and to schedule an appointment.
We understand that these changes may be inconvenient to some of your organizations. However, our commitment will always be to the health and safety of the animals in our care. We therefore ask for your patience and cooperation, and bear with us while we make adjustments to our spay and neuter scheduling. Again, I want to reiterate that the Ramona Humane Society’s Spay/Neuter clinic can now only accept feral cat spay/neuter patients from those of you who have either scheduled an appointment online, or for those who have scheduled an appointment over the phone as noted above.
By working together, we can all make a difference.
Sincerely,
Jeff Sheppard
CEO Ramona Humane Society
