Urgent!
I NEED HELP FROM OUR COMMUNITY!!!
Upon graduating from vet school I took an oath pledging my commitment to animal health and welfare, public health, and the advancement of medical knowledge to help animals. I feel it is a privilege to be a veterinarian, and I will continue to be strongly committed to this responsibility till the day I die.
An older woman from the community came into my clinic today asking me to put 2 of her dogs down. These are two healthy Anatolian-mix dogs (both female) that she inherited from her daughter.
I will skip the details. 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝗲 𝗶𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀/𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝗻𝗳𝗼.
Suffice it to say, this lady is extremely stressed out with too many problems in her life. She cannot care for these dogs right now and is devastated as she considers euthanasia. As a veterinarian, I cannot move forward with euthanasia as it'd break my commitment to animal welfare.
These two dogs need new homes asap! Alternatively, a caring foster home until a more suitable owner can be found. The ideal situation is a home with no other dogs or cats.
Please, let me know if you can help. I truly appreciate it!
Thanks!
