Pionus Baby Update! June 27, 2024
All White Capped babies have been sold for 2024.
There is a small chance an older breeder pair, on eggs, may hatch. Sadly, this pair will be retiring soon. We are hopping for one more round of babies from them.
If so, then we would have a clutch of WC ETA hatch 30 days. ETA take home November, around Thanksgiving week?
Babies below will be flying out next week!
NOTE:
Now would be the time to get on several of our waiting lists.
The WC list is very short, just a few names. Why get on?
Because many will down size from Bronze Winged, Maxi, Blue Head, and Dusky. Wanting a less expensive parrot. You could JUMP the 250 names on the BW waiting list. lol. No promises!
Be exchange contracts at least we do half dozen a year, trades up or down. Timing is everything.

Great News!
Three live White Capped Babies!
We may have another clutch of babies ETA 30-40 days.
The next clutch of WC babies could be the last for 2024 season.
So plan wisely! "A Bird in hand is better than TWO in the bush."
Meaning; If you are offered any baby, take it! Thus early you could TRADE your position!
There are other juvenile pairs that are still learning and may lay & hatch.
Maxi Babies:
Babies should have hatched by now! Once we verify a head count we will be calling those on our waiting list to reserve them.

Bronze Winged:
We are hoping the young pair has figured it out, Sitting tight!

NOTE:
Those on this BW waiting list are encouraged to get a Dusky or another PI sub-species or risk price increases as time passes!

Great News! New Bloodlines.
Babies below have been fed but do not know it yet! lol
Two live White Capped babies and another pair of WC proven pair should be hatching any day now.
We will be calling those on the waiting list to reserving WC babies in a week or so. Should have a head count by then.
Maxi's proven pair sitting tight in the box.
Bronze Wings finally getting the hang of things we hope. Female wasn't sitting tight on the first clutch. But now is doing the job we hope??? Time will tell very young pair.
Many newly weds hoping this year will be the year???

This is a very rare opportunity to see these Dusky babies. Once my breeders stop producing they may be gone from the USA never to be seen again? I know this looks easy, and while it lasts, I am enjoying the moment.

Folks, we believe we will have ONE more clutch of Blue Heads in the next 30 days. If so, they will be new bloodlines.
Now is the time to get on our waiting list for this last clutch of BH babies. For this 2023 season, at 2023 prices.
ETA take home will be in February 2024l.
Please don't be scammed by lower prices. They are brokered babies, foster children, without leg bands, and NOT disease tested. Birds without LEG BANDS don't have one for a reason!
This also makes any paperwork VOID, without a leg band. No way to match the paperwork.

Great News!
Three live White Capped babies. 2nd clutch for the newly weds.
The hen came out of the nest box so I took them. She must learn not to come off the babies. Youngest looking 4 days old. This waiting list is very short NOW but will soon grow fast.
If any of the Pionus Sub-species lay & hatch and someone is will to TRADE DOWN or UP from their positions, please let us know?
EXAMPLES:
TWO have traded down on the last clutch of Dusky's to WC babies. Those whom had deposits on WC traded UP to dusky's. Same with any other sub-species of Pionus. But there is no guarantees someone is willing to trade their positions up or down. This is WHY you want to get on the waiting list across the board.
We will be calling those on the waiting list for the WC babies to reserve them later today, or tomorrow. Please stand by.
Any other Pionus juvenile sub-species could still lay & hatch with a surprise in the nest box?
Please keep in mind. Mother Nature is always unpredictable.

A New Bird Stand!
Sadly, I had to covert another stand for the babies! They don't make them like they used to. You can't tell the we put several hours into the stand, after putting it together. We used oak dowels that will not warp. lol. But This is only for used for very young babies. Once old enough they will graduate to a larger one that we sell.

We have closed our waiting lists for WC several times. Now the list is OPEN for names to be added. Don't wait until the holidays, you will be on the bottom one 150 names, by December! Paying 2024 prices, IMO.
