Here is a post from Destinee on Kade her son's journey on battling leukemia. Please help her if you are able and pray for her and Kade. She has an amazing life story of overcoming drug addition, being raised in foster homes and destructive life styles. The end of the month is quickly approaching & Kade starts the next part of his chemotherapy journey. I’m nervous, scared & just wish we could avoid it. I wish he didn’t have to go through this. About a month after Induction was finished he started walking again, his personality is HUGE. He’s on go from the minute he wakes up until he goes to sleep & even though it’s hard some days I know I’m gonna be wishing for these days back. It’s hard not to ask yourself “he doesn’t seem so sick anymore, maybe he’s okay?” “Does he need to finish this maybe it was a mistake?” I don’t wanna see him the way I did before his diagnosis cus he just kept getting sick but mainly seeing him during & after induction..that broke my heart. He gets his tube placed back in the end of the month & im just a ball of emotions.

God’s Word For The Day Matthew 27:38-45 NKJV
38 Then two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and another on the left.
39 And those who passed by blasphemed Him, wagging their heads 40 and saying, “You who destroy the temple and build it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”
41 Likewise the chief priests also, mocking with the scribes and elders, said, 42 “He saved others; Himself He cannot save.]If He is the King of Israel, let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe ]Him. 43 He trusted in God; let Him deliver Him now if He will have Him; for He said, ‘I am the Son of God.’ ”

This weekend I decided to read the crucifixion story in Matthew and contemplate what the disciples were thinking during the different events that transpired. It was an eye opening though sometimes painful experience. I mean just think about it. Put yourself in the disciples shoes. You have given up everything to follow this man for 3 years. You have seen him raise the dead, cast out demons, and work many miracles. Now suddenly he is gone. Let's walk together through these events.
He has this special meal and says He will be betrayed by one of them. How can this be? They wonder which one it is. Could it be you? Could it even be me? He is doing strange things like washing their feet and saying this wine is His blood. Next Jesus takes them to a garden in the middle of the night and tells them to watch and pray. What is about to happen? What are they watching for? They fall asleep. Then Judas leads a group of armed men to capture Jesus. Peter rises to his defense and strikes one of them, a servant of the high priest and cuts off his ear. Would they all die now in battle? Would Jesus work another miracle and rescue them? No, instead He heals the servant and tells them not to fight. Would this put all of their lives in Jeopardy? Are you getting the picture? So many questions must have been running through their minds and mine as well? Read the story in Matthew 26 and 27. Put yourself in their place. What would you be thinking as each event unfolds?
They end up seeing Jesus nailed to a cross and hear him cry out “my God , My God , why have you forsaken Me?”. Then Jesus says “It is finished”. What does this mean? They go away and hide. What were they feeling now: anger, betrayal at being so deceived, fear for their lives? What would you be thinking? Selah!

God’s Word For The Day Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV
9 “This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. 11 Give us today our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one.
Lately I have been asking God for revelation daily. Nearly every night before I go to bed I pray the Lord’s prayer. This so-called Lord’s prayer was the instruction that Jesus gave the disciples as to how to pray. I not only pray this prayer but I also use it for a pattern for my nightly devotions. Recently I got what I believe was a fresh revelation on part of this prayer. It is “Give us this day our daily bread.”
I used to think the phrase give us this day our daily bread was simply a request for us to receive what we need, but now I see it as much much more. I believe it emphasizes our DAILY DEPENDENCY ON GOD. I can not stress this enough. Oh yes, we may pray before our meals or do our nightly devotions. We may pray when we receive a request for prayer. We may have some kind of daily interaction with God and this is good. But does it really reflect our dependence on God? Does it demonstrate a passionate need for Him in our lives? Friends, we all need God, and I mean dependently need God to intervene in our lives daily.
After leaving Egypt the Israelites wandered in the wilderness for 40 years during which time , God fed them with manna. It is estimated that there were between 2 and 3 million Israelites wandering in the wilderness. Think about how much food it would take to feed all those people and their livestock. It took an estimated 1500 tons of food to feed them and their livestock on a daily basis. That would take two freight trains each one mile long. Now are you getting the picture? These people were desperately dependent on God to provide the manna so they could eat. When God provided the manna His instructions were to gather only enough for one day except on the 6th day in which they could gather enough for the Sabbath day also. If they gathered more it would spoil. This emphasized their absolute dependence on God on a daily basis.
With all the busyness of life it is easy to forget about our daily dependence on God. That busyness can take away our awareness of how much we need God to answer our prayers; prayers for our needs, prayers for lost friends and relatives, prayers for our nation. Are you getting the idea?
Next time you pray, and hopefully that is often , pray with absolute dependence on God. Pray with desperation and fervency for God to answer your prayer. Do it daily and watch what God will do.

Today, as we celebrate the incredible achievements and resilience of women around the world, we want to share a remarkable story of strength, faith, and transformation from Saana, a 71-year-old widow in the remote community of Bukatabira, Uganda.
Living in an area with wild animals and scarce amenities, Saana faced decades of hardship. Safe water was a rare find, and the community was forced to drink yellowish water sieved through a cloth, plaguing them with waterborne diseases.
"Our small community lived in disease and death. We once attributed it to witchcraft, but now I know it was our ignorance and lack of safe water.”
The turning point came when Living Water Uganda drilled a new, safe water well in her community, marking the dawn of a new life. The local church became the epicenter of this transformation, providing Saana with access to multiple trainings—from Bible stories to constructing sanitary facilities.

God’s Word For The Day Psalm 37:1-9 NKJV
1 Do not fret because of those who are evil r be envious of those who do wrong; 2 for like the grass they will soon wither,
like green plants they will soon die away. 3 Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. 4 Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, your vindication like the noonday sun. 7 Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret—it leads only to evil. 9 For those who are evil will be destroyed, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.
I love Psalm 37 but recently it took on special meaning as I used it as my sword of the Spirit in a spiritual battle. You see, I am going through a very tough trial right now. The worst is over, I think, but I am still dealing with the ramifications of this trial. As well as the physical adjustments I need to make to set things right, I am dealing with anger towards myself, the doubt in myself, and fighting off anger toward the people who did me wrong. I want to be careful not to let a the root of bitterness and unforgiveness take hold in my heart.
Today during my devotions I was drawn to Psalm 37. It gave me great comfort and began the process of restoring my confidence. In verses 1 and 2, I see that God will deal with those who wronged me. All I need to do is trust in God, delight in Him and He will give me the desires of my heart. My most coveted desire is to follow God’s plan for my life to the very end. I want to finish my race strong. Even though I have retired and slowed down, God still has plans and purposes for me. I just need to keep my eyes on Him. He is Jehovah Nissi, my banner. I will follow Him as He leads the way. I will be still and listen when needed. I will not fret. I will commit my ways to Him and put my hope in Him. Then I shall inherit the land He has given me. Hallelujah!
Are you facing a trial right now? Do you have anger towards someone? How about unforgiveness, maybe even towards yourself. Take some time to read Psalm 37 in its entirety, meditate on it and commit your ways to the Lord and trust that he will be faithful to His word.

God’s Word For The Day
Hebrews 4:12 NKJV 12 For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
This scripture points out that the word of God has powerful influence over every part of our earthly being. It has power over our body which is our joints and marrow. That is why I say healing prayers daily. It has power over our souls which is our mind, our wills, and our emotions. When I wrote about Sue the other day I mentioned that I noticed a dramatic difference in her. That is because she was reading her Bible and doing her devotions every day. God’s word was exerting its power over her life effecting change for her good and His glory. Lastly God’s word has power over our spirit. Our spirits are eternal so this is vitally important and will determine where we spend eternity.
I have been blessed by the many comments coming in lately on the post of God’s Word For The Day. People are saying things like “Jerry, as you know, this is working in my life. TY” “Jerry, I needed to read this right at this specific moment”. “Sometimes words haven't even been created to explain what that means to me.” and “I'm going thru a lot right now Jerry. It's a comfort reading your posts” It's not me, I don't deserve the glory because it is the word of God that is touching and changing these lives. I am merely the vessel. I ask God nearly every morning to use me to touch someone today. I see many opportunities for further ministry open up. Opportunities for people to talk and just have someone listen to them. This is a very effective form of ministry as I explain in my book Evangelism, He Chose You. Often there are opportunities to encourage others when progress is being made. Still other times I can provide some Godly guidance from my past experiences or stories from the Bible. All these are ways God answers my prayer to be used so nearly every night I give thanks to Him for being used.
God is so good and His word is so powerful. It is the sword of the Spirit. Are you using your sword? It is the most powerful weapon you have.

God's Word For The Day John 15:16 NKJV. Many years ago when Iwas a volunteer with Campus Life I met a girl we will call Sue. A few years later I became the ministry leader for the Juvenile Justice Ministry of Badgerland Youth For Christ. Sue became part of our aftercare ministry. became part of it. She was very involved and sometimes a bit of a troublemaker. Other times she was very good. Once she aged out of the program she took a huge turn for the worse. She became addicted to some hard drugs and ended up in big trouble. Next came incarceration. While at the county jail Sue met Sandy who led a Bible study. Sandy is a prayer partner of mine so even though Sue was in the county jail we stayed connected. When Sue got out she had a hard time separating from her former life style but slowly but surely i began to notice changes taking place. Suddenly in the last few months I noticed a dramatic change. She sent me the following post just recently. ¹¹“Jerry Wallendal Gods been so good to me. My Life is starting to have many blessings that I never could imagine! You shall bear fruit and the fruit” Sue is my fruit. That's not bragging, that's God's word. He Chose us to bare fruit. Since this is our fruit we need to take ownership. With ownership comes responsibility. We could be seed sowers planting the seed, tenders of the plant by discipleship and/or harvesters, its all part of baring fruit. Maybe it's time to check on some of the harvest you have ownership in. You might find new opportunity or even a pleasant surprize. Your fruit baring brother. Brother Jerry.
God’s word for the day Col 3:12-14
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
One night at Bible study we were talking about these virtues which we should all exemplify as Christians and one name popped up. It seemed all of us had very distinct , but very different memmories of a man named Butch Vadestreek. Al had contact with Butch as a teenager which made a lasting impression. Then later Butch played a major role in starting a chrch Al would attend. Gene said his kids all loved Butch. Butch was well known for always having some gum for the kids in his pocket after church. No wonder he was a kid magnet. These connections made with youngsters lasted on for decades. I has Butch and his wife Wanda as volunteers in the JJM ministry with Youth for Christ. I invited him in as a volunteer. I remember him saying “What would this kids want with an old man like me. He and Wanda were both around 70 years old at the time. They went in as a ride along with me but quickly stole the show. The anointing with young people was obvious. Both Butch and Wanda were stunning examples of people overflowing with love for others. God’s Word For The Day Col. 1:9-14 NKJV
9 For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; 10 that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light. 13 He has delivered us from the power of darkness and [a]conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, 14 in whom we have redemption [b]through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.
It seems that just lately many of my friends are facing hard trials. The loss of a loved one, challenges with children, health issues and more. These occurrences can really drag a person down, but praise the Lord for those of us who are Chrisians. We know the comforter for our losses. We know the healer for our afflictions. We know the counselor for life's challenges. Even if sickness brings death to our physical bodies we get the final and eternal victory in Heaven, a place where there is no sickness or sorrow. That is just a small portion of the GOOD NEWS.
Many of you know I am facing some physical issues. These issues prevent me from doing many of the activities I used to enjoy like trout fishing with my buddy Kent, sitting in a duck blind on the family pond, and ministering to youth in juvenile detention to name a few. So how can I remain so positive and fulfilled with life? Yes, I would still like to be enjoying those old activities, but the fact is my Lord has given me other activities that bring me great joy and fulfillment to take their place.
The other night I was catching up with some old friends who were visiting. As I described some of the challenges I was facing I closed by telling them that I am still happy and fulfilled with life. God is still using me which gives me great purpose and joy. I facilitate a Bible study and time of prayer in my home. I minister to many former youth on social media. I offer words of wisdom and hope through God’s word for the day. But most of all I pray. I pray a lot. The fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. Now I am not righteous in myself but God has clothed me with the robe of righteousness. It is just one of the benefits God offers us when we call upon Him and make Jesus our Lord and Savior. Hallelujah! Friend , He has done the same for you if you are a follower of Christ and are following His ways. That is what it means to be strengthened with all might according to His power for all patience and longsuffering with joy. Rejoice and again I say rejoice for all God has done for us.
If you haven't made Jesus your Lord and Savior and the challenges of life are dragging you down, now would be a good time to open the door to your heart and let Him in.

God’s word for the day
Epesians 1:17-23 NIV 17 I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better. 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
A few months ago I heard Pastor Mark Hankins say he was told to pray the prayer above from Ephesians 1 everyday for 6 months and at the end of that time he would be receiving revelation and power like never before. I had said this prayer often years ago after reading a book from Brother Kenneth Haggin while studying for ministry. Life got busy and I failed to continue. However after hearing Pastor Mark's testimony I decided to commit to praying this prayer everyday for 6 months, never missing a day.
I started out praying this prayer twice a day. I remember waking up the second morning and receiving revelation like a flood. It was coming so fast and so intense I was brought to tears.
God what have I done to be so blessed. I mean it has only been one day. I didn’t think it would happen so fast. The anointing to receive fresh revelation was powerful. I continued to weep at experiencing the sheer power and love of God. It has now been nearly going on 3 months and I haven't missed a day. I notice something amazing happening nearly every day. One of the biggest changes has been the increase in wisdom. I am working hard on applying that wisdom and it seems God reminds me when I fail so I can improve as a vessel for Him to use.
Look at verses 17-20 and stop to meditate on them. Wow!!! What a blessing to get wisdom and revelation to know God better. Or how about having the eyes of your heart opened up to know the hope of His calling on your life and all that comes with your inheritance as a saint of God. Ohhh, and to experience His power in our lives for those of us who believe. How much more joy would fill our lives? How many more of our prayers would be answered? You might want to consider giving this a try. You just might experience what I am experiencing. All glory to God.

Colossians 3:3-5 NKJV
3 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
Recently I have been meditating on Collosians 3:1-17. Wow, there is so much to seek revelation on here. Today's verse really hit home with me as I was dealing with a current concern.
Yesterday I had a couple of encounters with people that left me in deep thought. Did I respond correctly? In one case I wanted to defend myself. I think that this can often be our natural response to things of this world when we feel misunderstood or attacked. We feel a need to explain ourselves. It is at times like these that we must step back and ask ourselves “ will this really bring healing and forgiveness or will it further exacerbate the situation”. In the second encounter I questioned one of my responses in a conversation. At the time it seemed ok but later I started to question the results which eventually led me to question my response. The following morning I continued to wrestle with the issues of the previous day and my responses. I repented for any wrong I had done but just couldn’t escape the questions I was going over in my mind. What was I to do going forward? God help me.
I decided to turn to God’s word and started to once again meditate on Collosians 3. Then it happened. SEEK THOSE THINGS ABOVE, NOT THE THINGS OF THIS WORLD. That was all I needed to hear. I was concerned with the things of this world. I was concerned with what people had said, what I had said, and my further actions. Those were all things of this world. I set my mind on things above and suddenly a peace flowed into me. Praise the Lord.
We all have times when we feel overwhelmed by situations. it could be a bad diagnosis. It could be hurtful words. It could be a personal trial we are facing. The list goes on and on. Is something overwhelming you right now? Take your eyes off of the things of this world and put them on things above. Let the things above become your focus. Then the things of this world will grow strangely dim as your life is hidden in Christ. What a wonderful place to be.
