Wow, the competition was intence in the Awards, with over 3,000 entries! I had never entered a photo competition before—let alone one at this level. Self-doubt kept creeping in, but at the last moment, I decided to submit five of my images. Trembling with fear, I picked five photos almost at random and hit submit.

I didn’t expect any recognition; for me, just entering was a win. But to my huge surprise, three of my images received Pro-level awards, and two received Bronze awards! Wow!! I’m thrilled and incredibly grateful, not only for the awards but for the detailed feedback from the judges. Their insights helped me see my work from a new perspective, motivating me to take my photography to the next level.

I love photographing all breeds, but I have a special soft spot for German Shepherds! 🐾 They’re some of the most intelligent, playful, and yes, mischievous dogs (speaking from experience, since I have one myself!). I had the pleasure of meeting Lucy, a stunning 10-month-old German Shepherd at Humane Society of Northwest Montana, and it was a true test not to bring her home with me! This gorgeous and silly pup is ready for her forever family, so go check her out at the shelter.

I recently had the pleasure of working with Flathead Veterinary Wellness & Rehabilitation Center, Northwest Montana’s only integrative holistic veterinary rehabilitation center, and I can’t recommend them highly enough! Spending a few days photographing their incredible treatments—from underwater treadmill therapy and acupuncture to shockwave therapy, massage, and veterinary chiropractic—showed me firsthand the depth of care and expertise they provide to their furry patients.

The team’s dedication to a whole-body, compassionate approach, combined with the center’s calm and welcoming atmosphere, creates a truly healing experience.
