Today is another big day!! Join us in celebrating Brandi, today is her Birthday. We like to call it “National Brandi Day” and it’s basically the best day of the year!

This gal has been with us for so many years I’ve lost count (8?), I actually don’t remember doing this without her. She’s a team player; devoted, trustworthy, faithful and an amazingly hard worker- not to mention one of my closest friends! Shes always there when we need her, ready and willing for whatever we throw at her!

We are ready to unleash the love at the Mega Adoption Event! 🐶💖

Join us TOMORROW THRU SUNDAY and you just might find your new furry family member. Over 300 dogs, including dogs from our Pet Resource Center, will be available to meet and adopt at NO COST.

Swing by the Strawberry Festival Fairgrounds inside the Grimes Family Agricultural Center May 17-19 form 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Don't forget all dog PRC dog adoptions will be taking place at the Mega Adoption Event, only cat adoptions are available at PRC this Friday and Saturday.

We LOVE this guy! He is absolutely perfect! He is a very nice guy!!! He knows sit and takes treats very nicely. He was so kind and nice. Another great dog in a packed shelter.

Head Hancho has been at PRC since May 2023. He is 5 years old, neutered, 80lbs, HW negative, & is gentle dainty tolerant in playgroup. He did stay with a foster for 6 weeks but hasn’t left the shelter since September 2023. Head Hancho loves his toys & engaging with his human counterpart. He likes to be more playful with his female four legged friends. Wonderful dog!!! Ladies man!

12-FEB-24 - Interact - Per Volunteer: leashed easily, walking with a mild pull to the play yard. He quickly ran over to choose a toy, playing fetch with us and playing on his own. He ran around tossing toys and rolling on his back to hold them up to play with them. He happily lay on his back at times to get tummy rubs. He engaged well with both of us when playing and training, showing good focus and recall skills. He mostly ignored dogs in neighboring yards; instead enjoying engaging with us and playing with toys. He did well with leash skills on a walk in the lot and when returning to his kennel.

Foster notes Head Honcho and I are having a very nice time together in this weekend overnight experience. He was very relaxed in the car on the way to my house, very interested to examine every corner of the space inside, slowly with respect...I told him that he is Welcome, Safe and Appreciated and soon after that he assumed a pose "pet me...pet me" on the floor that he repeated several times throughout the weekend . His appetite was excellent, he enjoyed the home made kefir ( in an appropriate for his weight minimal starting amount ). We played at the back yard and walked to the nearby park at early am and at dusk as it was extremely hot at other times, he does pull a little and is much better when on the harness. It seems that he is a big fan of cool vs.hot environment and he does like plush squeaky toys. He also loves, loves food!

‼️UPDATE ‼️ A HUGE thank you for the Tampa Bay community and - THE KITTENS HAVE BEEN RETURNED AND ARE SAFE! Sergeant Scott Savitt Supervisor of District 1 detective squad and detective Jodie Maxim along with another TBD officer went out of their way after receiving tips from the community to retrieve the kittens. TPD is continuing the investigation therefore we will not speak on additional details about the two suspects or their pending charges. But, we cannot thank every single person who shared, commented, and sent in messages for Mitch and Marcus’s safe return. After examination the kittens are healthy and doing well! You are all our heroes!
