At Masconette Farm, nestled along rolling hills, lives a spirited pretty mare named Süsse. Süsse has spent the winter months in her paddock longing for the day when the frost would melt, and the earth would awaken with the promise of spring. Now it is finally here! SPRING!!!!! Daffodils burst forth from the ground, their golden heads nodding in approval, along with forget-me-nots and thousands of other blossoms. Birds singing melodious tunes, and the air filled with the sweet scent of spring. For Süsse, the most anticipated moment has finally come—the return to the grassy pasture. Look! How excited she is!!!! With the sun warming her back, and the breeze carrying away the last remnants of winter’s chill. JUST LOOK AT HER! Lost in the simple pleasure of being alive. Her winter coat shed in tufts, revealing a sleek, glossy coat underneath. Watch her gallop with the wind, her hooves leaving imprints in the soft soil,... rolling on the sun-warmed earth, her whinnies echoing across the field. Look at her, standing at the edge of the pasture, grateful for the gift of spring.

"Call Me Maverick", the c**t that was born at Masconette Farm.

Congratulations to Fredericton native Mike Stevenson who won a $12,951 division of the Maine Standardbred Breeders Stakes at the Windsor Fair this afternoon with Call Me Maverick in 1:58.3 over a heavy track.

Stevenson has been the driver for all of the 3-year-olds starts this season which includes 9 out of 10 stakes wins. The c**t has won 17 of 20 lifetime starts (all Maine Sires Stakes wins) and is over $120,000 earned.

Call Me Maverick is the leading points getter in the series and will most likely be the favorite heading into the $80,000 final on October 16 at Bangor.
