New Beginnings For Merced County Animals Our primary focus is helping to reduce the shelter’s euthanasia rate. We rely heavily on donations and volunteers for foster and transport help.

New Beginnings for Merced County Animals is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping the animals at the Merced County Animal Shelter as well other locations in Merced County. Our primary focus is helping to reduce the shelter’s euthanasia rate by providing transportation for the animals to various rescue organizations. We also take animals with medical issues out of the shelter and arrange f

or veterinary and foster care. Veterinary bills and the cost of fuel are our biggest expenses. We are a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization. All contributions are tax deductible as allowed by law. (Non Profit Number 36-4704902)

Guess what yesterday was? 70 dogs and cats flew out with the wonderful Wings of Rescue team. 👏👏👏
Looking at the photos, besides two pilots, there was also a look out! Wouldn't you love to know what was going through the kitty's brain looking out that window?😺😼😹😸
New Beginnings is extremely grateful for everyone who loves these precious animals and support this mission to save every animal possible in Merced County.
Blessings!❤❤🐾🐾

Ken came into rescue as a tiny, hissy kitten. He is now 5 months old and loves his people. He initially hisses at strangers at Atwater Petco, but scratch his back and he relaxes. Pet for awhile, and you will be able to hear his loud purr through his super-soft fur.

UPDATE: These 3 were flown to a Washington rescue thanks to a foster!
Short Term (4 days) Foster Home Needed Urgently
We’re searching for a foster home for these three adorable pups! They need a space for four days where they can be kept separate, as they are not yet fully vaccinated.

The foster family must also be available to bring them to their transport flight on Tuesday morning in Atwater.

Please reach out if you can help!

1 ½ cups granulated sugar
2 large eggs
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
½ teaspoon almond extract
4 tablespoons milk

Another uplifting day! Some days can really take you down and then there are these days!❤❤❤❤❤
48 dogs and 21 cats, another 69, flew out to Washington and across the border to British Colombia. Thank you Wings of Rescue and Captains, Kale and Anji! Let's do it again in two weeks! 👩‍✈️👨‍✈👏🐾👏🐾
It was good to be able to get a number of cats on this flight. We have so many cats on our waiting list, so this was a good day. Hopefully, more will fly out on the 17th.🛩✈😽😺😻
Preparing for the flights can be exhausting, but then you start loading the plane. As you look into their eyes and see their wonderful personalities, you know why we go through all the emails, texts, phone calls, vaccinations, testing, paperwork,😡, printing, and all the electronic information needed for the flight.
I can't wait for two more weeks!😁🙃😉
Thank you to all the wonderful people who make this happen. We love you!❤❤❤❤
