If you were at MCBA National in March you may have seen me feeding 2-day-old quintuplets. Here’s 2 of them today at just under 5 months and just over 600g each. It was worth the effort.

Had a great weekend at MCBA Nationals! Showed 30 chins and I think got 26 first place or above. We had 24 exhibitors there from as far away as Florida, Texas, Washington, Nebraska, and North Carolina. Our champions consisted of:
Champion Beige Female
Res Champ Beige Male
Res Champion White Female
Champion Ebony Female
Champion Black Velvet Female
Champion Standard Male
I also won the Champion Male of Show, Ebony Breeder Award, 3rd Place Standard Breeder Award and the very top award for all-around best: The Master Breeder Award.
So many thanks to everyone who came so far and worked so hard to make a big event like this happen. The MCBA Board of Directors worked tirelessly again this year to make it happen. We notice and we appreciate it! See you next year!

I don't know why this hasn't received more publicity, but this fifty-foot sculpture was unveiled recently in South Dakota.
It's called 'Dignity' and was done by artist Dale Lamphere to honor the women of the Sioux Nation.

Had a great time at the Great Lakes Branch show yesterday! I continue to see improvements in my results as I won 6 of the 10 standard Class Champions and 2nd Place Standard Breeder Award. In the mutation show I had the following color section champions:
White - Reserve Champ
Pink White - Champion
Violet -Champion
Beige - Champion & Res. Champ
Ebony - Champion & Res. Champ
Black Velvet - Res. Champion
The black velvet also won Resrrve Grand Show Champion and I was awarded the 1st Breeders Award in Mutations.
Thank You! To the members of the branch that worked tirelessly to host and to our Judge and Trainee Judge for investing three days of their time to make the show possible. They did an excellent job! See you at Nationals!

Still looking for their fur-ever homes in the Greater Boston area!
These two 1-year-olds are in search of loving families to call their own. They are currently living together, but could happily go together or separate!
-The older male was born on Halloween in 2022. He is slightly larger, much darker, and is very high energy! He is not a big fan of being held, but is incredibly inquisitive and friendly when in his cage.
-The younger of the two was born December 2nd, 2022. He is slightly smaller, lighter in color, and is a much calmer fella. He does not mind being held, but is still working on being picked up!

Friday I loaded up the family and drove to Wisconsin for their annual fall MCBA Show. It was a great turnout and competition! Thank you Brenda and the WI MCBA for hosting, and Dr. Butler for judging. We took 26 chinchillas and 24 of them placed 1st or higher. Our top winners were:

Had a great time at the annual MCBA National Chinchilla Show over the weekend. Thank you to everyone who helped make it a success: the Board, those who donated, worked, came and showed, and to our judges that traveled a long distance then evaluated and commented on over 300 animals! Big show!
Eddy Chinchilla showed 35 beauties and they represented us well: we won the first breeder award in Standards (i.e. Sterling), Beige, and Ebony, and were also awarded:

This little man has more personality than most people I've met. He is constantly fiddling with his wood or digging and burying himself in his shavings. He is not a huge fan of being held so far, but with enough time and patience we could see him opening up to the right person/people! He is always willing to put his concern aside for the right treats after all. ;)

This beautiful girl has been affectionately known as "Snowball" up to this point due to her striking pure white color. Like most chinchillas she can take a little bit to warm up to you, but unlike others she does not mind being held or cuddled once she has adjusted to you!

We had a crazy busy weekend traveling to PA for the Great Lakes NAB ECBC Chinchilla Show. We showed 21 standards and 15 mutations.
In the Mute Show we won:
* Champion Beige
* Res. Champion Beige
* Champion Ebony
* Champion Violet
* 11 of our 15 placed first place or higher
* First Place Mutation Breeder Award
In the standard show, we won:
* 7 of the 10 Class Champions
* 4 of the 10 Res. Class Champions
* 19 of our 21 placed 1st or higher
* Res. Grand Show Champion
* First Place Standard Breeder Award
Congratulations to everyone that showed, and thank you to everyone who worked so hard to put this show on, including Maxine for judging.
We continue to work on continuing to improve our overall quality and expand into new colors. Hoping to have Black velvets, white, sapphire, and black pearls to show in the future.

A great BIG Thank You to the Heartland Branch for hosting yet another excellent show with the highest quality of competition!
Eddy Chinchilla made a 9 hour trek to show 14 standard (Sterling🤣) chinchillas and 13 mutations!
We had 10 first place ribbons in the Standard Show plus a Reserve Class Champion and a Class Champion!
In the Mutation Show we had 11 first place ribbons as well as the Champion Beige, Reserve Champion Beige, Champion Violet, Reserve Champion Black Velvet, and Reserve Champion Ebony.
Congratulations to everyone who participated! See you at Nationals!!
