At Able Dog, our mission, and passion, is to support the love between people and their pet companions through care, community, and continuous learning. Our pet sitting services provide for the security of your pet while you are away and a more comfortable alternative to a kennel. Our training services enable owners and their pets to develop a loving and positive atmosphere at home. Elaine Chevalie
r – Owner, Trainer, Sitter
Originally from Virginia Beach, VA, Elaine has had a life-long passion to support loving homes for people and their pets. She found special joy and satisfaction working with dogs, especially with her dog Gracie. Of all things, a high school reunion provided the opportunity for her to follow her dream. Her first leap was moving in 2004 from a long residence in Tallahassee, FL to a country road in Wake Forest, NC. An enthusiastic student of the science and art of positive motivation based methods of dog training, she studied with and became certified by the Animal Behavior College, interned with a local certified trainer, worked with another training company, and continued training with Gracie. Able Dog, LLC was founded in 2006 and she hasn’t looked back. A popular pet sitter, talented dog trainer and a knowledgeable resource for caring pet owners, Elaine is an active member of the Association of Professional Dog Trainers, the National Association of Professional Pet Sitters, and an authorized presenter of the Doggone Safe family pet safety program. Natalie Lowe – Sitter, Youngsville Area
A North Carolina native, (rare in this area) Natalie Lowe joined Able Dog, LLC in April 2014. She’s an avid Carolina Hurricanes hockey fan, loves to travel and spend quality time with family and friends. She has two incredible pets, a Golden Retriever/Collie mix named Ruuty (a rescue who she refers to as her “heart dog”) and a cockatiel named Romeo who has more personality than most humans! Since Natalie doesn’t have children, these two are truly her babies. After a 20 year career as a Project Manager with a local firm, she retired and began a search for a fulfilling part-time career. Always a dog lover, she knew that the perfect way to spend her retirement would be to help busy professionals care for their dogs when they couldn’t be there for them. Natalie always prides herself on being dependable, caring and loving, and usually develops strong friendships with her clients. Her philosophy is to treat your pet as if it were her own and to be the kind of pet sitter that you feel is an extended member of the family. Michael Chevalier – Business Manager (and anything else assigned)
In one of several “tours” as a Navy brat, Michael ended up at the same high school in Virginia Beach with Elaine in a year that is no longer relevant. Life goes on and after a couple of colleges, universities, and work throughout Virginia, Michael moved his young family to the Raleigh area in 1992 in a vain attempt to collect more framed wallpaper. Given that his son was born here and all three of his kids have graduated from NC schools, he claims partial native status. In 2002, he moved to a quiet two acres in Wake Forest to start his “gentleman’s farm.” By some form of intervention, a high school reunion announcement led to meeting Elaine once again. His kids are grown and the “farm” is still on paper, but the gentleman remains joined by Lady Elaine and three canine companions. Known by “Mr. C” during stints as a college adjunct and a substitute teacher, Michael and his faithful companion Bea (our boxer mix) manage Able Dog’s boring business functions. As a parent, educator, and former emergency service volunteer, he is equally passionate in family safety and education. We invite you to join our community.
