We’re thrilled to recognize Cindy Whaley as Paws to Care's Volunteer of the Month! Since joining us last year, Cindy has jumped into every role with a smile and a big heart. Whether she’s transporting dogs, fostering strays, cleaning kennels, or even handling bookkeeping and van maintenance, Cindy is always ready and willing to help.

5 pups and a mom and daughter duo left at 5am this morning for a brand new start! Thank you Stephanie Paluch and Players For Pits for giving all these guys a chance to have the life they deserve!
The pups were found dropped on the side of the road by the levee most likely because they were eaten up with Demodex mange. There were 6 but sadly one was run over😔. Thank you Jess for keeping them safe and taking care of them until we could find a place for them!
The mom and daughter were found wandering down the road as well and no one ever claimed them. Thank you Dana Catharine Arnold for taking them in and keeping them safe and for transporting all 7 today!!!

Meet Honey! She’s as sweet as her name and ready for her furever. She has a leg that is going to be amputated mid September but it doesn’t slow her down any. From what we can tell she’s had a rough life but she is just as loving as ever. She loves kids, other dogs, cats and all people. We just don’t deserve the love of animals. Honey is the perfect sized package at 50lb. She needs a foster or adopter who can give her a warm bed and a cool floor to rest and recuperate on. Meowdy, Pawdner! 🤠

Love a good country song? Then you’ve gotta meet Maddie because her life has all the elements of a country hit! Imagine this: born to a wild mama and an absentee daddy who did time in the slammer, Maddie got caught up in the honky-tonk life, running with bad barncat cowboy wannabes. She was abandoned while pregnant by her no-good, catnip-lovin’, faucet-drip-drankin’ boyfriend, then hit by a car (or maybe it was a train, who knows?). But Maddie’s unstoppable! A kind soul rescued her, and she delivered four perfect kittens while with us. Now, this tough mama is all grown up and ready to trade honky-tonkin’ for a nice, quiet farmhouse life.

Maddie’s got a limp—think of it as her swagger—but she’s still climbing, jumping, and living large. She’s a true country girl at heart, loving everything from old-country George Strait to new-country Post Malone (she’s convinced his “Always Tired” tattoo is a tribute to her napping skills).

So if you’re looking for a resilient, charming lady to join your crew, Maddie’s the one. Visit her at Dyersburg’s Petsense, adopt her, and take her home so y’all can jam to “It’s Your Love,” “Bless the Broken Road,” and “I Love the Way You Love Me” together, cuddled up on the sofa gazing into each other’s eyes watching Gunsmoke reruns and Yellowstone.

Urgent Need for Foster Homes
Are you a cat or dog lover? Do you have a spare room or a quiet corner in your home? If so, we urgently need your help!
We are at capacity, and we can't continue to rescue animals without your support. We desperately need foster homes to provide temporary care for cats and dogs while they wait for their furever families or rescues.
Fostering is a rewarding experience that allows you to make a real difference in the lives of animals in need. By fostering, you're providing a safe and loving environment for animals until they find their perfect home or rescue.
No experience is necessary. Our volunteers will provide you with all the support and resources you need to be a successful foster. We'll cover the cost of food, supplies, and necessary veterinary care.
Please consider opening your home to a foster pet. Together, we can ensure that every animal has a chance at a happy and healthy life.

She’s all about the gentle pets but absolutely hates being picked up. 😂 Plus, while she’s cozying up to them, she’ll swipe the receipts 🧾 to prove they bought the stuff they planned to use to abduct you. She’s smart like that. 🤓

Gracie is low-maintenance, loves gentle cuddles, knows exactly when people should lawyer up, and gets along well with other cats. Fall is almost here. All we can think about is cuddling on the couch with some hot chocolate and watching movies. We’re also looking forward to hayrides and bonfires. If you need a companion to stick right by your side year round, meet Cora. Cora is a laid back, sweet girl who will cling to you like glue. She is good with other animals and loves to play. She is very laid back and submissive during play time. You can’t ruffle her feathers at all. She’s a perfect size weighing just 35 lb. She’s heartworm negative, spayed and up to date on shots. We have recently added 3 new dogs to our facility. They will most likely be long term dogs. Care for each long term dog in our facility is approximately $80 a month. Thats not including overhead related to housing and daily care. Our long term dogs who still need sponsors (plus the 3 new ones) are pictured below. Meet Mara and Sora, two beautiful cats currently being fostered by a volunteer. Despite their Feline Leukemia Virus (FeLV) diagnosis, these girls are in good health and full of love to give.

Mara, a three-year-old white and tabby beauty, loves to lounge in sunny spots. Sora, her two-year-old black-coated friend, is playful and affectionate, always ready for a cuddle.

While FeLV is an infectious disease that affects a cat's immune system, Mara and Sora can still live happy lives. They need to be in a home without other cats or with FeLV-positive cats to prevent spreading the virus.

These girls are looking for a special home where they can continue to thrive. If you’re ready to offer love and care to one or both of these deserving cats, please consider adopting Mara and/or Sora. Puppies flying planes! Just kidding, we had an actual pilot. Transport by air for these 3 cuties! Thanks so much to the pilots who donate their time and money to fly animals around. They are headed to a partner rescue to find their Furever homes. Thanks also Everett–Stewart Regional Airport for being so welcoming and helpful!

Hi I’m Oreo! I’m the perfect size at just 27 lb. I’m neutered and up to date on all my shots. Unfortunately I do have heartworms but I’m on medicine for that! I am so loving and cuddly and just want to be where you are. If you’re working I’ll sleep by your feet, if you are on the phone I’ll curl up in a chair, if you are watching a scary movie I’ll share your popcorn and cuddle with you when you get scared. I do not want to be in a crate but that’s ok because I seem to be housetrained. We are thrilled to announce that Dianne Nale has been selected as our Volunteer of the Month! Dianne has been a dedicated volunteer with Paws to Care for years, primarily working with cats. Her commitment to rescuing and nurturing the most difficult cats and kittens has been truly inspiring. As our PtC liaison with pet stores, she saves lives every day through her tireless fostering efforts.

Dianne is always willing to do whatever it takes to help the helpless cats and kittens that come our way. She is our go-to person for bottle-feeding kittens, providing around-the-clock care until they can eat on their own. Her nurturing nature and positive attitude make her an invaluable asset to our team.Dianne’s quiet and caring demeanor is admired by all who work with her. She is a wonderful person who deserves to be recognized for her outstanding contributions. We know she’ll be totally embarrassed by all the fuss, but we couldn’t be prouder to celebrate her this month. Thank you, Dianne, for everything you do!
