Created by a certified dog trainer to be a space to share simplified dog training tips and discuss common questions. I’ve had the opportunity of seeing all sides of the dog world; such as: private lessons, group classes, dog shows, rescue, mascot training, and dog sports. I earned my Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers CPDT-KA in 2017. Additionally, I completed the Fear Free Certif

ied Professional program in 2019. My full time job is as the trainer and program consultant for Northern Illinois University’s live mascot Mission. Currently, I also work part-time for an in-home pet euthanasia service as a client liaison, and also accept private dog training clients on an exclusive basis. All of these opportunities help keep me informed on how the different training and veterinary fields are growing and changing.

Here in Illinois, it's in the negative temperatures - which means lots of inside time even for Northern breed dogs. I have a lot of fun rotating puzzle toys, playing games, and providing chews to keep the dogs enriched and happy on freezing days. Here are some of my favorites, what are yours?

It's common knowledge that toddlers are full of big feelings that they learn to process as they grow and develop. Sometimes, the love of a devoted dog can be too much emotion for my little guy to handle, and I set about finding creative ways to teach both kid and dogs how to positively give space when asked.

After some time and consideration, I've moved Allerian Training into a rebrand of "Simplify Dog". When training professionally - whether for private client or group class - my goal is to make scientifically proven, positive dog training to be explained in the most simple manner possible. Comprehensive dog training deserves to be explained in a manner that makes the most sense, and I look forward to sharing my tips and tricks with all of you!

Our Story

About Lisa Boland - Owner/Trainer: Through the guidance and support of several excellent mentors, Lisa has been able really explore training and handling opportunities. Lisa has studied a multitude of training methodologies, handling techniques, and breed standards in order to give the dogs she trains all that they deserve. Training: Lisa trains with her own dogs in agility, obedience, rally, weight pull, freestyle, and conformation. She has a passion for teaching show skills and puppy obedience. While her breed specialization are Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Klee Kai (this special breed often needs very specific training and Lisa is constantly evolving her training curriculums to best serve these unique dogs), Lisa enjoys training every breed as each brings their own style to the training process.
