We recently learned of an alumni's passing. Sweet MoMo was a member of our MSIR family, and her humans sent us the sweetest message and we'd like to share with you, in honor of sweet MoMo 🌈
"Momo came to me through MSIR, though I had a feeling right away she wasn’t a Shiba. She was a beagle mix with floppy ears, soulful eyes, and the sweetest personality I’ve ever known.
We only had three years together, but they meant everything to me. Momo had this energy that filled the room. Her tail wagged so hard I always confused it for a draft. She’d howl when ambulances went by, and while she never fully taught her brothers how to do it, they started picking up the start. She loved her broccoli toy, her llama, and anything her brothers were playing with. But mostly, she just loved being close. She’d follow me from room to room and always wanted to be in contact. She kept peace in the house, stepping in when things got too rowdy between her brothers or making sure I didn’t get too close to her mom.
One of my favorite memories was how we used to dance together every day. I’d bring out a treat, and she’d wag her tail until she was fully rocking her body side to side, showing her joy. It always made my day brighter. Even when she was sick after surgery, she still found the strength to jump into bed to cuddle. That was just who she was. Strong, loving, loyal, gentle, and always giving everything she could.
She passed from aggressive lymphoma earlier this year. I held and cared for her the entire time. She left this world in my arms, surrounded by love. I miss her more than I can say. But I’m so grateful she was mine and that we found each other. She made everything better."
Fly high, sweet girl. We're grateful to have been a step in your journey & thankful you ended up with your people. 🐾
