Huge news for Peridot Equestrian Center, Kate, my parents and myself: We have sold our farm property to Tracey Kenney Bray and her family!
Even though it wasn’t our plan to actively market the farm for sale, the specific buyers (who are amazing) and the timing were such that it became a great opportunity for everyone, and so we have decided to sell the farm to them.
This all happened VERY quickly (less than 4 weeks ago). And we closed today.
We feel this is such an amazing opportunity for this wonderful new family to take the reins and guide this magical property into the future. I love the idea that there will be another young girl here who grows up riding in the arena and visiting her beloved horses in her pjs like Kate used to do. Tracey also has some exciting plans for how to make the property even better than it is. So, although letting go of the property is sad for us, we think the absolute right family came along to take over as its caregivers for its future.
It has been our greatest joy and pleasure to build this property into what it is today. I’m particularly proud of the achievement of getting approval from the country for our incredible covered arena, building the new Orchard Barn on the property, and doing so many improvements when we purchased the property in 2018. I’m also so proud of how successful Kate and Soliere were with this property as their home base, and I’m proud of the many, many educational events and clinics we were able to host here, from USEF development and young horse clinics, to clinics with 5 star FEI judges, Olympic coaches and Olympians, to USDF youth clinics and American Hanovarian Society inspections.
Most importantly, I will always cherish the friendships we gained through Peridot Equestrian Center.
You might want to know what is next for us. Kate is thriving at UCLA and is moving into a career in the film and television industry, and she will be living in the LA area in order to do that. And my trademark, copyright and business law practice is also thriving and growing, and I am excited to have time and bandwidth to really focus on that, while also getting my Masters of Law from Columbia Law School in NYC this summer/fall. After that, I will likely move to LA to be closer to Kate as her life unfolds up there. And last but certainly not least, my parents, Mel and Mary Ann, can now fully enjoy their retirement.
Soliere will be heading up to Sacramento to join our other boy Rassolini as a breeding stallion with Eurequine, LLC - so if you are looking for amazing stallions for your mares, please consider our two gorgeous and talented stallions!
Our retired horses are already at a lush, beautiful retirement property in Santa Ynez where they will still get long, lazy days on grass pastures. And Rosie (3/4 sister to Steffen Peter's Rosamunde) is for sale for some lucky Dressage rider looking for their heart horse.
Also, the property now has a new name, Emerald Equestrian Center. 💚
We will be keeping the Peridot Equestrian name and brand, as we have an on-going business with it that includes our breeding stallions under that name, as well as Kate’s future horse plans TBD under that brand.
We will miss our barn family so much, and especially our team. We could not have done what we did here at Peridot without them. They literally helped make Kate's riding career with Soli possible due to our extensive travel for shows, and they have made my life possible here, given how much I juggle in any 24 -hour period. I will forever be grateful to our entire amazing team. 💚💚💚
