Little kitten Blair was spayed today. Our sweet staff member took her home for the night as she recovered from surgery. Her dog Romeo, a Smithgall alumnus, was smitten with Blair and was doing his best to make her feel better❤️ Blair and her brother Brandon are just the sweetest kittens. Well hello there beautiful! Please meet Dandy. We pulled Dandy from a high kill shelter before she lost her life. Here she is on her freedom ride and meeting our staff. Dandy will now have a safe place to decompress, receive lots of love and care and best of all the time to find the pawfect family/person. Dandy is a one year old Dutch shepherd mix. She is a love, people and dog friendly, calm and gentle. She rides in the car like a champ. Now all she needs is a loving home. Dandy will be fixed before going home. We wish we could save and rehome the many dogs that are sadly losing their lives to overcrowding in kill shelters, but for the dogs and cats we save, we’ve given them a future. Please help us get Sawyer (right) and Sterling home for the holidays! These sweet boys are just over 2 years old. We were thrilled when they were adopted together as kittens but sadly their mama became ill and they had to be returned to us. They are longing for a home to call their own. We would love them to be adopted together but think each would be fine on their own. If you’re looking for a sweet, big bundle of love, these boys are it. They are lap loving purr machines!

Home For The Holidays! In just a few short months this beautiful boy Tommy went from a hoarding situation to a kill shelter, to us, and now to his forever home. Thank you Hall County Animal Shelter for bringing us this sweet boy. I’ll just let his mama say it

Good morning! I just wanted to update you on the sweet kitty we adopted from y’all on Nov 13… Arlo (aka Tommy) has been home with us for a month now and is doing great! He’s met most of our family members now (we have grown kids who have their own homes) and he loves them and lets them cuddle him too!

He has bonded to me and comes running if I call his name! He looooooves treats so that’s how each family member has been able to earn his trust!

Everyone agrees he’s the best sweetest kitty. I tell him every day “you’re da bestest of all da best kitties in da whole wide world” 😍 He squints his eyes and chirps like he knows what I’m saying and agrees. 😁

Arlo’s dreams came true! We have so many deserving kitties who want to find their home this Christmas!

Nothing is sadder than losing your person and home during the holiday season. 😢 Our poor Buckley just lost everything and is in a state of panic and confusion. His mama, his favorite person, passed away. Thankfully Buckley came back to our safety, (once a Smithgall dog, always a Smithgall dog) but his heart is broken. Where he once spent time enjoying the warmth and love of the holidays, this year looks to be very different for sweet Buckley. We’re helping him decompress, showing him love and kindness and trying to soothe his fears, but it’s hard for him to understand with all the changes. He grieves for his mama. We’d love for Buckley to find a Christmas miracle. We have not yet posted his profile, and will share information about him, but he’s lived in a home, he’s an active pup and enjoys walks, he’s sweet and friendly, and he’d love a forever home. Let’s get this fantastic brother/sister duo home for the holidays!! Brandon (left) has been a shelter favorite from the start. Stunningly marked, so friendly, affectionate and confident. We really thought he would catch someone’s eye quickly. His beautiful sister Blair was a little more timid at first, but she is absolutely thriving. She’s probably one of the most cuddly and affectionate kittens we have right now. They are cat friendly, people friendly, and absolutely love children. These babies are about six months old and would look wonderful under your Christmas tree. Please help make their dreams come true!

Our greatest prayers are to get Boscoe boy home for the holidays. This handsome boy with the sad and earnest eyes would love to have a family of his own. He’s five years old now. For one so sensitive as Boscoe, time in the shelter is eroding his spirit. You can see in his eyes his longing for a quiet and loving furever home. Boscoe lived in foster early on. He’s very well mannered. He’s sweet, friendly, affectionate and calm. Boscoe loves being with people and he loves with his whole heart. He’s very loyal. We thought for sure he’d be scooped up right away, but that was years ago. We’re praying that this is his year. He will make for a wonderful companion. Help us welcome Jackson to his second chance. This handsome boy was on “last call for euthanasia.” We pulled him just in time and here he is on his freedom ride to safety. His innocent eyes show his worry and a gentle trust in the kind person who picked him up to bring him to our shelter. He has no idea his life is changed forever. Jackson may not yet be home for the holidays, but he definitely got a Christmas miracle. Special thanks to Jackson’s advocates who brought him to our attention. Jackson is super sweet, people and dog friendly and such a good boy. We’re getting to know him and will share more soon, but we already know he’ll be a wonderful companion. We love showing Mel’s home for the holiday story. This amazing dog will feel all the love and warmth of the holiday season. Mom and Dad are getting her into the spirit with her reindeer ears 😂 Mel might not be so sure about her ‘ears,’ but she loves her pawrents! And so do we! We pray all of our dogs and cats get their own holiday miracle this year. It’s so special when they get to celebrate with family. Mel went from homeless to cherished.

Happy kitty update from Daisy! “Daisy is doing beautifully! Everyone just loves her, and she is slowly but surely becoming a lap kitty (she was on mine for 30 seconds yesterday morning)! She gets along great with Bruno the Frenchie and is getting there with Nicky the Maine C**n, and is such a sweetheart. She brings me joy every single day.” Daisy definitely found her purrfect home and true calling, helping her mama spread the joy of books through the love and coziness of a great bookstore! Another fantastic update of a once homeless kitty now home for the holidays!! ❤️

Thankful for this family! Remember Buddy, the senior bulldog who lived his whole life on a chain never knowing love or family. Thanks to his pawsome pawrents for taking a chance on him, Buddy lives indoors and loving it, he has 2 best buddies after welcoming another lucky rescue pup into the family, and he gets all the snuggles, care and safety he could want. Buddy’s story touched us deeply. To see him so loved and cherished and happy these days fills us with joy. This is an outcome we’re so thankful for. Happy Thanksgiving Buddy and family!

We rescued Daisy (was Ridgy) from euthanasia…This is how she thanked us. Daisy now has a chance at finding a loving family and will be safe with us until that time comes. We can already tell she is an exceptional kitty.
