🦇 Things I said to my dog today that sound scarier than a horror movie:
“Stop licking the floor.”
“The Amazon guy is not here to take you away.”
“Yes, you can sniff around…just not in the costume aisle.”
And the thing is… every single one of those makes perfect sense if you live with a dog. This is why leadership training is so important—it keeps those unhinged-sounding sentences from becoming full-blown sagas. Instead of you arguing with a 70-pound furball in the middle of Target, your dog learns how to respect boundaries. You still might sound crazy sometimes, but at least you’ll be the calm, collected kind of crazy.

Lets Walk! Join us for our 1st Anual Halloween walk. October 19th at 9am. A quick walk around the park and then back home in time for the Chiefs game! This FREE event is only open for Always Faithful Alumni. There are just 30 spots available. This is NOT a training session. This is a fun activity to walk around the park and socialize with other AFDT dogs. Dressing your dog(s) in a costume is optional but highly recommended. Congratulations to Murphy for completing his Therapy Dog Certification!! He was already bringing joy and comfort to his community but now he's going to be doing it a little more professionally.

Not every dog can be a Therapy dog. They must pass the initial assessment to ensure they have the right temperament and basic obedience. Being a Golden Retriever, Murphy almost instantly fit that mold.

“Haunted House? More like Haunted Walk.”
Here’s the thing: your dog doesn’t need ghosts or ghouls to act like the world is ending. Sometimes it’s just a squirrel, a blowing leaf, or that one neighbor who insists on wearing a hoodie in 90-degree weather. Without leadership, your dog will treat every rustle in the bushes like an emergency. With leadership, you show them you’ve got it covered. No more panicked “LEAVE IT” screams that make you look haunted yourself. Calm leader = calm dog. And yes, squirrels remain weird little monsters, but at least your dog will stop acting like one.
