Part 2 of our Puppy Bowl at Southold Animal Shelter. Plus it's been awhile since we have posted our miracle boy Spotz & his girlfriend Allie ( here they are). 1 of the most important things you can do for your puppy is to socailize & expose to new experiences. Well supervised playgroups are invaluable. Enjoy the videos. Hope they make you SMILE!
We had our own Puppy Bowl at Southold Animal Shelter with the Famous Miss Merrie, Frappichino, & our own Chubbs. Socialization is key!
SHARE SHARE SHARE so Marshmallow doesnโt have to go back out into the cold! He was dumped by some heartless person over the summer. Heโs fixed and will be fully vetted. He is currently in my bathroom due to the snow and frigid temperatures. He cannot stay there much longer and will have to go back outside once things warm up a bit. He just wants a lap to keep warm. Please share! PM us for more info. You can also call/text 631-505-3833.
We are so happy to see that our Mama cat (who is just a kitten herself!) is finally relaxing and enjoying herself now that all of her babies have gone to their forever homes!!!
Come down to Shirley Feed for our Holiday Extravaganza!!!
Kittens need homes! We are at Shirley Feed until 2pm today!!!
Update- Spotz is responding to temporary treatment plan until biopsy comes back. YES- he is finally up & walking around a bit. My hope the 1 positive from all this is perhaps his illness( Autoimmune Muscular Disease) will help us in animal advocacy &/or the medical field recognize the signs earlier with this disease & treat immediately & appropriately. This is rare very rare & the signs/symptoms are so similar to many other illnesses such as tick born , toxins/poison, lepto, or even an animal that outreach may find that's emaciated with no muscle mass. When we see this coupled with vomitting, severe drooling, etc. We all assume the worst of the owners ( lack of food & water) &/or assume it's parvo. Etc. I wonder how many times an animal was diagnosed with something else bc these tests were not thought of or how many times after just a few days they were thought of as just to far gone to be saved. We can tell you in 1 week 7 days Spotz has been from 1 extreme to the other. It was heartwrenching to watch him waste away in 5 days. Friday he was the same as always good weight & muscle tone within 3 days he lost 5lbs. By Wednesday he lost all muscle & was emaciated spine & ribs sticking out, even his skull bones protruding. I swore he would not survive the night I truly believe his body could not take anymore. This is today after starting treatment Tuesday afternoon. His weight & strength returning at least for now. Its a miracle he is walking & alert. There is alot to learn & consider with these diseases including resources ( financial ) some are reasonably treated & others fatal but it's a starting point. We are on our way to see Spotz tonight. Will keep you posted. Right now it's still a matter of time waiting & keeping him comfortable until the tests results are back at the end of next week. Thank you all so much keep him in your thoughts & prayers.
( Oh forgot to say PLEASE PLEASE SHARE ).So I (Samantha ) tried to capture it tonight again on video. How super smart & funny little Brie Brie is ( available for adoption /looking for her forever home). Brie is the (little baldy one in the middle & on the patio) soon to have the most beautiful coat/fur in the world. My dummies ( I mean that with total love) don't stand a chance. Everyday all day they try to keep up, NO CAN DO! Brie is the one squeaking the toy , she grabs it they run round & round trying to get it. Brie even has time to stop & get a drink of water before traveling on leaving my crew behind & dumbfounded. Brie is just so much fun such a snuggly now totally happy ray of super sunshine. Tonight's video was after she wore them out now they are just thinking or trying to think really should we go round again or just give in & admit she beats us everytime. I hope they don't learn & give up because watching them just makes my day! If you'd like to adopt the most amazing little dog in the world please let us know. Or call me 631-833-0970 Samantha. "The Brie Chronicles ". Stay tuned......
PLEASE SHARE TO HELP FIND BRIE A HOME!
Here's my ( Samantha)best attempt at a video of our newest amazing beautiful super sweet gentle & loving foster Brie. I tried I really did a few times . All who know me, know very well I stink at pictures & videos. I would like to have edited out the end ( the part where Spotz knocked the phone from my hand) but couldn't figure out the edit thing lol. So...... here is our Brie. Came home early from work today & immediately set this sprinkler up for them to run & play in. That's the only sprinkler they all seem to like. **** As you can see Brie is great with all size & age dogs. She is super smart, learns very quick, knows come, sit, down in just a few days. She is totally housebroken, loves her crate & toys. She is feeling better & healing really well. If anyone is looking to adopt an amazing little love bug please let us know (pm us or call me 631-833-0970 & please, please, share!
