Laser therapy employs light to reduce pain, inflammation, and facilitate the healing process. 🐾 Emergency Care at Its Best! 🐾

Early this morning around 5:00 am, Dr. Church was on call when an urgent call came in from Koji's worried owner. Koji, a sweet little dog, was having trouble breathing and wasn’t acting like himself. After a thorough exam, Dr. Church quickly recommended a CT scan to better understand the situation.
The CT scan revealed an esophageal obstruction, which turned out to be a pig snout treat lodged in Koji's esophagus! 😯
Thanks to Dr. Church's quick thinking and the help of our endoscope, he was able to carefully remove the obstruction, and Koji is now recovering well! 🙌💕

Koji’s mom is hoping to raise awareness and get the word out to other pet parents about the risks of certain treats.

*Always be cautious with the treats you give your pets, and make sure they’re safe for them to chew and swallow.*

We’re so grateful to be able to provide the care Koji needed, and we’re thrilled to see him on the mend. If you ever find yourself in need of emergency care, our team is here to help!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holiday season from Plattsburgh Animal Hospital.
With a busy holiday season, our schedule is a little different this week.
Our hours are as follows:
December 24(Christmas eve): 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
December 25(Christmas day): closed
December 26: Closed
December 27: 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Please contact Burlington Emergency Veterinary services with emergencies at this time.
We will resume our regular hours on Saturday December 28.

We hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving Day. We will be here 24/7 and ready if your pet is experiencing a medical emergency and needs care - even on holidays! Remember that these ​​Thanksgiving items can be dangerous to pets:

🍗 Turkey bones – can splinter and cause choking or internal injuries.
🦃 Fatty foods – like turkey skin, gravy, and stuffing can lead to pancreatitis.
🧄 Onions, garlic, & chives – common in holiday dishes, but toxic to pets.
🥧 Chocolate and desserts – contain ingredients harmful to both dogs and cats.
