May is Osteoarthritis awareness month.
Moo and Hoss wanted us to shed light on this common yet often misunderstood condition in pets. Osteoarthritis, also known as degenerative joint disease, is a progressive and irreversible condition that affects the joints and causes pain, stiffness, and decreased mobility.
Solensia for cats and Librela for dogs are once monthly injections that have been very successful in improving the quality of life in many older pets.
In addition to these injections, Plattsburgh Animal Hospital is proud to offer laser therapy and acupuncture to pets, proven to improve pain and mobility in pets.

🐾 Important Update from Plattsburgh Animal Hospital! 🐾

Beginning June 1st, we're implementing a new yearly wellness exam protocol to prioritize the health and happiness of our furry patients! 🌟

We want to ensure that every pet receives the comprehensive care they deserve, which is why we're making the following tests required as part of the yearly wellness exam:

Heartworm Test: This essential test will be conducted to screen for heartworm disease, a serious and potentially life-threatening condition. Additionally, this test will also check for tick-borne diseases. Testing annually to help prevent the spread of heartworm disease, Lyme disease, ehrlichiosis, and anaplasmosis while increasing awareness of these vector-transmitted diseases.

F***l Test: Internal parasites can sometimes go unnoticed but can cause discomfort and health issues for your pet. That's why our comprehensive f***l test is now a required part of the yearly exam, ensuring early detection and treatment of any parasites.

These tests are required components of our yearly wellness exams to ensure the ongoing health and well-being of your furry family members. 🩺🐶🐱
