We love getting amazing updates about our pups....Palmer is just loving life now...

Palmer spent seven years pumping out babies for her breeders. Her anxiety clearly showed when we saw that picture of her with a rope draped around her neck as they announced they were done with her. As an older black lab, her potential just spoke to me. These are some of the best family dogs...they just need patience and love while they learn to be part of a family. And lots of medical. Lots.

Palmer two months later, is living her dream life with her retired mom on the edge of a nature preserve.

On the first Friday of each month, credit union employees are given the opportunity to "dress down" in exchange for a donation. At the end of each quarter, these funds are then donated to a charity of the employees' choice.

For the second quarter, credit union employees chose to donate their Dress Down Day funds to StoryTeller's Express.

"StoryTeller's Express, Inc. was formed on the premise that all dogs have a story and through rescue & transport assistance we can pen our part in the magical adoption stories for many unwanted & abandoned shelter pups."

They have dogs for both adoption and foster!

I am pleased to introduce Ruby a 5-year-old Pomeranian who is looking for her new home. She is a breeder release and she is great with other dogs. She just came to Foster this weekend and is starting to learn about home life. Ruby is spayed and has had a dental all of her shots and testing and preventatives

Sweet Palmer is still looking for her happily ever after! Palmer is a 7-year-old black lab puppy mill mom who gained her freedom this month! She was just spayed this past week and is recovering nicely. On top of being spayed, she is currently under treatment for Lyme disease as we always run a 4dx to ensure they are HW and tick disease negative...unfortunately for Palmer, she was Lyme positive, so we started a 30-day round of doxy to take care of that and ensure her future is bright and pain-free.

Palmer does well with other dogs of all sizes but truly LOVES people. She seems OK with her foster's cat as well. This adorable girl will be ready for her home next week and she would love to have some applicants to meet!

Sweet Lakota is a (now) 7 mo old Anatolian pup who has been with us for three months. She's spayed, up to date on shots and prevention, and just waiting for the perfect home.

Lakota loves to play with her pup siblings but adores her human and we urge applicants to research this guardian breed before applying. She is an amazing girl looking for a family that will appreciate the breed traits

As we adopt out a LOT of bulldogs, I usually post something almost yearly. This heat is DEADLY to your bulldogs. That is NOT an exaggeration and I cannot stress this enough. To quote AI's synopsis: French bulldogs are susceptible to heat stroke because of their short airways and inability to sweat. Panting from heat or overexertion can cause their airways to swell, making it difficult to breathe. This can lead to panic, more panting, and more swelling, which can be fatal if left untreated

In this heat, your bulldog should only be outside to eliminate and then back into an A/C setting. Know the signs of heat stroke. Once you see the first one, your dog is usually as good as gone. Our sweet Cleo, the most recent 7 yr old yellow lab mom we took has tested positive for Lymes and will need treatment. Usually it costs us around $700 to fully vet the older dogs and this will be an additional expense. Lakota is still waiting for a home as perfect as she is! This girl is a 6 1/2 month old Anatolian Shepherd which is a livestock guardian breed. She is a bit true to the breed in that she loves to be outside just observing to keep her family safe. She also does love playing with other big dogs her size (she can be a bit much for a smaller dog).

Lakota is now spayed, up to date on shots and prevention and enjoying life with her foster mom who has made great strides in giving her a good family foundation but its time for her to find her happily ever after!

Momma Minnie is so special and she patiently waits for a family that will love her as much as she deserves.

This sweet 6 1/2 yr old Bernese Mountain dog mom came out of the Ohio Breeder releases last October and has since had a dental, been spayed, and gotten up to date on shots and preventatives.

Minnie loves other dogs and will love her person once she gets to know them. We'd really love for her to have a fenced yard as she does need to get in lots of running around to strengthen her one bum leg that was an old injury from the mill. Rescue fit her with a brace which she will come with to keep her hip aligned and enable her to enjoy activities more!
