Meet Luna! Luna is approximately 3 years old, spayed, and was returned to us due to a divorce. She is a sweet natured dog, but was lacking in the training department. When she came to us she was also missing a lot of fur. Since she has been on the food and vitamins we feed and getting some sun, her fur continues to fill in well. We are uncertain at this time exactly what was causing her hair loss but have high hopes that with good nutrition and a bathing schedule, it will return.
Things she has been learning since she has been here the last few months are: sit, wait, leave it, drop, kennel (she is ok in her kennel but sometimes she tries to hide instead of going in), here, e collar conditioning, loud noises, Nice, heel and leash manners, general impulse control, sitting to ask for attention and just generally good manners. Her level of compliance with all of these things is different and will continue changing as she works more.
Luna was uncertain about our pack when she arrived. Since then, she has welcomed a few newcomers that were here for breeding with no problem. Everyone seems to play or just coexist peacefully. She has settled in well.
Luna is a LEANER. She will lean on you and let you pat and scratch her forever. She is higher energy and would do well with an active family who provides lots of love and has the ability to be firm with boundaries without losing their cool. She is sensitive and will emotionally shut down/provide all the wrong behaviors if yelling is the norm.
If you think Luna may be a good fit for your family outright or with a little coaching from us, please reach out to me. We will be screening families, so be prepared to answer questions. There will be a small adoption fee, an adoption contract, lifetime support, and trial period to ensure she's a good fit. We will have a requirement that she stay on the food and suppliments she is on to ensure her health moving forward. We will always take her back if at any time you decide it's not working. We do not ever want one of our Dogs to end up in the shelter!
