This holiday season, many families will be purchasing or adopting a puppy or dog.
Please remember, wether you purchase a pup from a reputable breeder or adopt one from a rescue, dogs are only as "good" as they are trained.
Your new pup may be amazing, cute and super excited to be there....but as the newness wears off and the pup learns the lay of the land...the problems begin.
BUT, there IS a solution!
You can either pass on the pup this Christmas, or contact us for training and setting expectations for your pup!

This should serve as a stark reminder to everyone who thinks that all stray dogs are friendly.
It is unknown if the dogs attacked her while riding her bicycle or if she got off and introduced herself, but not all stray dogs are friendly.
It should also serve as a reminder to those whose dogs like to chase cars and bicycles, it is not okay and can be very dangerous.

Housed in our foyer, trained in our living room, with ample play time outside as well; your pup will love their time at school here at Crawford's K9 Academy LLC!

Look at this sweet face. She has a sweet personality to match! Sasha is a spayed 5 yo German Shepherd. She gets along with male dogs of similar size, but really enjoys getting all the attention. She is potty, crate, leash and basic obedience trained. Contact Crawford's K-9 Academy, LLC for an application. Transportation can be discussed.

We have some really awesome boys that still haven't found a forever home yet.
Iggy, the black bully, is approximately a year old and is an all around sweetheart. He gets along well with other dogs and kids, and has done really well with basic training. He will need a companion who wants a pup to spend a lot of time with.
Barrett is ready to go do all the things. He is perfect for a person who has the energy to match him and would definitely be on board with hitting the trails. He is ok with female dogs similar in size to him, and older children.
Dexter is a lover. He wants nothing more than to take long walks on the beach and snuggle in for a movie night. He gets along with female dogs and less dominant male dogs, and older children are Ok.
All rescues are adoptable immediately, with adoption fees waived and two free training sessions to ensure they transition comfortably.

Meet Stella, our newest CK9A trainee.
Stella is a 4 month old Australian Shepherd, she is super hyper and very intelligent. These awesome traits can lead to confusion in training, frustrated owners and behavioral issues.
Fortunately, Stella's family recognized her need for training and she is now on her way to being the best pup she can be!

Little Luna is our newest board and train edition at Crawford's K9 Academy. She is a beautiful Cane Corso with plans to be an amazing service pup one day.
Her brother Romeo will also be a service dog and they come from a current clients pup named Stella.
They are second generation CK9A!

Rocco is a rescue that is back for our board and train program. He is very energetic and doesn't like to listen, he is also pushy and doesn't play well with others.... This is the beginning of Rocco's transformation....

Nakia is a purpose bred German/Dutch Shepherd. She is trained in obedience, potty trained, crate trained, leash trained, house etiquette trained and comes with 2 free sessions as needed. Nakia is $1500, UTD on vaccines and good with all dogs.
Something we hear all the time, "Oh dog training is easy, anyone can do that." Or, "You just give them a treat and they do it, why is it so expensive?" The truth: Many people believe the term dog training simply means to give a dog a reward and they will listen, that anyone can do it. But dog training is so much more complicated than that. There is a psychology behind training canines, as well as differences in every breed. Add to that the history each dog comes into the relationship with and you end up with a confusing mix of psychological triggers and fears, and possible traits and behavioral issues that need to be simultaneously assessed and responded to. When you get that wrong or when you have to test the limits of a dog's response level, things happen. This specific bite occurred with a dog that gives very confusing responses that change based on minute differences in people, location and surroundings. Did we mention you can not respond to being bitten, in any way that gives the dog any sign that you are hurt or upset? This is dog training.......
JB decided he didn't want a bone, he wanted a box of bones lol
Mogley was awesome in his second training session! He learned proper leash etiquette, recall and waiting patiently at entrances and exits. He loved our littlest dog trainer as well!
We wanted to offer a glimpse into the training we do with our CK9A puppies. This is sig, he will be a service dog when he is older. This is his first session, learning to be calm and to sit patiently using his food, a slip lead and lots of patience and repetition.
