🏇🔔🌴 TAMPA BAY DOWNS RINGS THE BELL FOR THOROUGHBRED AFTERCARE

Run for the Ribbons brings the Ring the Bell program to Florida racing at Tampa Bay Downs in Oldsmar, just in time for opening day, Wednesday, Nov. 22nd. After a successful debut at Oaklawn Park in Spring 2022, Ring the Bell, started by Ron Moquett and the Arkansas H.B.P.A, has grown in popularity and works in partnership with the Arkansas Thoroughbred Retirement and Rehabilitation Foundation Inc. and now Run for the Ribbons Inc.

Starting today and throughout the whole racing meet, winning connections will have the opportunity to donate to aftercare in the winner’s circle. Any donation of $100 or more will result in the actual ringing of the bell and the crowd will know that , “The bell is ringing for the love and respect of the thoroughbreds,” as stated by founder of the program Moquett. Ring the Bell will benefit the retired racehorses and this program will work as a retirement fund for all Thoroughbreds who have raced in Florida. The proceeds will help support responsible aftercare organizations in the state to care for these retired athletes.

The vision of Ring the Bell is to raise awareness for Thoroughbred aftercare and Run for the Ribbons is thankful to Tampa Bay Downs and their H.B.P.A for being heroes to the off-track Thoroughbreds in bringing this effort to Florida.
