Turn up the sound! Meet our special boy Britches. This sweet man was adopted a short while ago at about 8pm from a Tucson PetSmart. We were contacted about 12 hours later because they wanted to return him. They said he had too much energy and kept them up that first night. Here he is with his foster mom.....I think this could become a "foster fail." :-)
Here's the update you've been waiting for! Shamara hasn't had any accidents today!!! She is no longer incontinent!!! She was found last weekend with a terrible injury at the base of her spine, where the tail connects. The nerve there was so badly damaged that she has been incontinent since she was found. She was seen at the emergency vet clinic and they recommended euthanasia. We decided to give her and her sister Shemari (with the broken spine) some recovery time before making the decision to euthanize. They were given some pain meds, enough until today. As of today, both girls have improved so much that we are no longer considering euthanasia! Shamara may need to have her tail amputated in the future for sake of hygiene. It is not functional, but that's not so awful. We can live without a tail... So today we celebrate two lives....Shemari & Shamara!!!

The Desert Cat Rescue kitties & team want to send out a special Thank You to Mo Lucero! She is our hero today as she stepped up to help these tiny littles! You are absolutely amazing and we can't thank you enough for helping these Littles!
This precious momma was found on someone's porch with her single baby. They were not able to locate any more kittens. The finder thinks momma may still have kittens inside, but she is no longer in labor. Momma & baby will be going into Desert Cross Veterinary Hospital in Thatcher, AZ tomorrow morning for evaluation before coming to the rescue. Please help us by donating to mommas care. If you would like to foster this little family, please pm us!
Kitten season has begun. Even a small donation can create a big change and a better future for a kitty who needs our help right now. The more people who give, the more we can help. Please, donate now. 💙 www.desertcatrescue.org
For those unfamiliar with FIP, one of the symptoms is fluid retention in the gut. It presents as looking very bloated. Maverick (FIP Foster), has already gone through treatment and extended treatment and is currently in observation. She recently started to look extremely bloated. This little girl has nearly died multiple times in her short life. So when she started to look like a pregnant cow waddling around, I immediately thought the worst. We went to the vet yesterday to see what was going on... SHE'S JUST FAT.
Donations are vital to continuing our care for kitties with medical needs. Highlighted here is Maverick, one of our foster kittens who is battling a serious viral infection called FIP. 🖤 Please consider supporting Maverick's care by making a donation at desertcatrescue.org/donate

Our beautiful little Bambi had a confirmed diagnosis of wet FIP today. Thanks to the support of some amazing people, she received her 1st treatment this evening. 83 more days to go. Please send prayers, good vibes, good feels, good juju or whatever works for you for her recovery. The treatment for FIP is very expensive. Please donate to help us cover her medicine. At this time, medicine alone is going to be around $1,500.00. Vet visits & ongoing blood work will be more. Donations can be made through Venmo or PayPal on our website: www.desertcatrescue.org Thank you! #adoptdontshop #SaveThemAll
