⚠️ FOSTERS URGENTLY NEEDED FOR LARGE DOGS! ⚠️



We are hoping to get 24 dogs out of the shelter and in to foster homes this week to help us free up much needed space. Even if you are only able to take a foster dog home for a week, that helps reduce our dog population in the shelter and open up kennels for incoming dogs.



Don’t have the supplies? No worries! Fosters provide the love and we provide everything else including food, toys, blankets, and medical care.



WHAT WE NEED:

🐾 24 dogs out to foster homes

🐾 Willing and able to care for large dogs

🐾 Even 1 week of availability can make a difference

HOW TO HELP:

🐾 If you're an existing foster, reach out to our Foster Team if you are able to take a foster pup.

We've got a lot of Lifesaver Rescue transfers scheduled this week, from Yakima Valley to Hawaii, and it's a good thing too because our amazing Rescue Squad swooped in last week and adopted out 102 cuddly cats and dogs. We're getting their rooms ready as we speak and can't wait to greet our new arrivals and very quickly say goodbye as they too make their way home!

Hello! The Seattle Animal Shelter is asking for dog treat donations! They have an Amazon wish list in the comments. 🐾

🐾 Woof! Hello, hoomans! It's us, your adorable and ever-hungry furry friends speaking! 🐾🐾

We've got a little something to share with you today. You see, we've been having a great time with the volunteers during our walks – they're just the best! Those walks are like little adventures for us, a sniffari if you will, full of borks, and wags all around. But here's the thing: they've run out of treats! Gasp! 😱

Our treat jar is empty. The volunteers are feeling a bit ruff about not having enough treats to reward us during our adventures. We can see the sad look in their eyes when they apologize for not having any to give. It's heartwarming to know how much they care, but we miss our tasty little rewards! 🥺

So, dear hoomans, we have a favor to ask. Pretty please, with a cherry on top and a sprinkle of treat dust, would you consider sending some more treats our way? We've heard that there's this magical place called the Wish List (link in bio) where you can find all sorts of delicious goodies for good doggos like us. We promise we won't be picky – anything that's bite-sized and yummy will do just fine! 🍖🍗

We know that times can be ruff, and we're just a bunch of furry buddies in a big world. But your kindness and generosity mean the world to us, and it brings wagging wonders to our doggy hearts. Just the thought of those treats makes our tails do a happy dance! 💃🏼🐾

This cutie is not receiving the interest we think she should be! Sweetie is still waiting for her adopter to see her and give her the home she's been waiting for. Will you please join us in sharing her again today? 🤞💗

What an interesting girl Sweetie is! We are told she is a westie/chihuahua mix. At 15 pounds, she may or may not be a little on the chubby side. One cannot tell with all of that FLOOF! Sweetie is a little over 8 years old, so she is a young senior who with an adopter committed to her lifelong veterinary care, she will be around for some time to come!

Sweetie has lived with other dogs and has lived with cats but we are told she would do best as an only animal as she wants to be the top dog. Sweetie does not appreciate children and will nip at them. For this reason, she should not be around kids. Sweetie will thrive in an adult-only home where someone is home most of the time.

We are told Sweetie is happiest being either in her person's lap or playing with her tennis ball on her bed. Sweetie enjoys playing ball and going for short walks. She needs a harness on walks so as not to pull on her neck. She has had some basic training and does well while on leash. Sweetie will wander off his let off leash so one must have a fenced yard for her or keep her on leash when she is outside a securely fenced area.

Sweetie can do stairs and "hold it" during the day about 3-4 hours before she needs to get out to potty. We are told she will have accidents if she's not let out in time so her adopter should be willing to keep her on schedule. She will let you know when someone is at the door or when someone walks into the house. This is a dog's job, yes??

Sweetie will need to see a vet upon adoption as she is not up to date on vaccines. She has never had a full senior check up with lab work and urinalysis. This gives an overall picture of a dog's health and is something we highly recommend every dog owner should do at least once a year, especially for a senior dog.

Described as being "sassy", she is protective over her possessions when another dog dares to check out her stash! She will dance for her treats and surely make her people smile! Sweetie sounds like a fun little dog who could make an adult a wonderful and loyal companion.

ADOPTED

Zoey is a very sweet, gentle, tenderhearted adorable 8 year old DoxiePoo (dachshund/poodle) who weighs 11 pounds.

Zoey takes a little time to warm up but when she does, her heart blossoms with a fun, loving and playful side. She thoroughly enjoys playing and chasing her foster fur brother and gets the zoomies!! Her nighttime ritual includes a greenie toothbrush which she waits for every night.
Her grooming needs include daily brushing and professional haircuts as needed.

Zoey is potty trained however a new transition must be patient as she relearns a new environment. She had a previous injury at a young age which left some nerve loss of her sphincter muscle and may p**p unexpectedly. This only happens periodically (especially if she is not taking out regularly). Medically, Zoey does take two easy medications Proin and Bethanechol and for maintenance purposes only, and she receives acupuncture to increase nerve response.

She LOVES her walks, food, treats and belly rubs! Zoey is easy-going, a snuggler and responds beautifully to words of affirmation, positivity and happiness. She does prefer female homes however is male friendly.
