Balls are for trees! 🎄

1. Neutered cats live longer, healthier lives, and are far less likely to fight other cats. FIV, FeLV, and other diseases are spread by cat bites sustained while fighting.

2. Neutered cats are less likely to spray. Smelly tomcat urine damages property and causes problems with neighbors and landlords.

3. Neutered cats are less likely to be trapped, dumped, or taken to a shelter. Being neutered advertises that someone cares and that they won’t be reproducing.

4. Neutered cats fight less often and less aggressively. This saves money on veterinary bills to treat abscesses and wounds.

5. Neutered cats stay closer to home. They are less likely to get lost, killed by predators, or hit by vehicles while roaming and searching for mates.

Seems crazy but it’s true! Cats can have up to 5 litters per year. That’s why it’s important to spay/neuter cats.

Even if you have a house cat, it’s easy for them to slip out the door and return pregnant.

For community cats aka stray cats, ask your local shelter about Trap/Neuter/Return programs. The shelter will provide traps and fix the cats for free, then release them back to the community. This keeps 🐱 population down and lets cats keep the 🐀 in check!

When it’s more than just a spay or neuter

Our goal? It is bigger than simply spaying and neutering the street dogs and community cats of Jamaica. It is about preventing dog bites for children walking to school. It is about preventing disease in the pet population. It is about preventing unwanted litters of puppies from going hungry. It is about meeting and joining together with amazing communities across the gorgeous country that is Jamaica and working together towards a common goal.
