Today’s Smile(s) - When the rescue lady is bringing you really good nom noms but you are still scared…then you find out you are going to a foster home tomorrow & she is all excited but you don’t know what a foster home is…so why am I smiling? Because the place I’m going has 2 other kitties like me, born outside to a Feral Mom. She says I need playmates. Aunt Pammy holds me like a baby & rides me around in a papoose so….Meow, hiss, meow, Charlie

We are over the moon with gratitude! Our recent auction of handcrafted mugs with our logo by Carina Erkel of Growing Roots Pottery brought in $1000 in donations to save more kitties. This auction was in honor of our President, Pam Lookabill's birthday and she is so grateful. Thank you from the bottom of our cat loving hearts to Carina and everyone who bid and donated extra!

I was named Annie by my rescuer because I lived a hard knock kind of life. You see, I was living in a trash can & surving on what I could find. They “networked” me & they got a really nice lady to drive a long way, pick me up & take me to Asheville. I heard the Asheville rescue lady say they didn’t have room for me but for heavens sake I was living in a trash can so she couldn’t say no. For the first time, I was warm & had all the food I wanted! I got lots of pets & love & became known as GC Annie. Oops, I tested positive for FIV & that meant no pet store enclosure in my future. The Vets there poked me a lot. I didn’t like that but I was anemic & sickly & had really bad poops. Hey, what did they expect? I was eating garbage! Anyway the day came for me to go to the spa. Let me tell you that place was no spa but they were really nice to me & said I wouldn’t have to have any more babies. That was good because my last babies all disappeared. Then one day a nice lady came to meet me & a cat named Breezy. She met me first & I loved her! I put on my very best show & she decided not to meet Breezy. I felt kind of bad about that so if you know anyone looking for an 8 y/o please send them Breezy’s way. I am HOME with a family that loves me. My new name is Queen Dahlia Garbage Can Annie but I will now be FurEver known as Queen Dahlia. That will definitely suit me as my new fur grows in & I am back to my beautiful self. Thank you for adopting me new family. I will love you FurEver & thank you to all the rescue ladies that made this happen for me!

Fred & Mazzy are close in age (~4 months) so moved into foster care together. Why? Because 2 kittens are always better than 1. Kittens needs a playmate of similar age & these 2 are having the best time in their new foster home! Wouldn’t you like to meet them?

Suki will be 5 next month & she spent at least a year of her life in a shelter. Today that all changed when Suki went home with her new Mama. We love this little girl & couldn’t be any happier for her. Live your very best life, Suki!

Sweet girl, Suki, did not always have an easy life & was in the shelter’s care for ~1 year. We decided to see if we could help her find her family. Today that happened. Her new Mama met her a couple of weeks ago & we all felt it was a good fit - including Suki. I couldn’t be any more happy that she now has a home of her very own. Live your very best life sweet girl. You deserve a wonderful HEA.

Gumdrop is such a sweetheart! She has wrapped all of us around her little paw. She is only a year old & looking for all the love! You really should meet this girl!

Breezy came back to us from the county shelter so we aren’t sure why she was turned in. She is the sweetest “old soul”. She is ~8 years old & just wants to be loved. Our vet has given her a physical, including blood work. She is in good physical condition but her heart is broken. She’s not a huge fan of being picked up & carried but she will crawl into your lap & roll over for belly rubs! Are you the family to heal her broken heart. She needs all the love.

Our sweet boy, Vincent, is scheduled for surgery Monday at SAVES (formerly Upstate Specialty Vet). At this point we have raised 2918.53 toward his surgical costs. We have spent over $2000 on his care to date & have an estimate that is up to $5153.23 for his surgery. SAVES will accept payments directly at 828-210-8285.
