Congratulations to Melissa and her chocolate drops! Zoli earned her first C-ATCH on Saturday with a fabulous standard run at the South Paws K9 Agility and Scent Sport MN agility trial. Zoli earned 8 Q's in 10 runs and Julep went 9/10. 🤎🎉🤎

Katy and Phoebe had a great weekend at the CVTC FastCAT event. Phoebe earned her DCAT title. Congratulations, so fun to see your dog’s achievements!
Katy and Emmi had a wonderful weekend. Saturday they made Emmi’s debut in AKC Novice agility at the Key City Kennel Club show. She qualified both her runs!
Sunday Emmi got to run FastCAT. She put in her personal best!
Congratulations to Team Ellie on a very busy weekend, showing 4 trials in 2 days with great scores.
Received Rally Master title #2 and Rally RAE title # 2.
They are well on their way to their RACH title!
What a great weekend for Emmi, Luna, & Rory, all of them are fortunate enough to have handlers that are out there letting them have the time of their lives running FastCat. We are proud of all of you living the best life with your dogs, doing all the things!
Luna and her junior handler got to run some more FastCat today and improved her time to 16.14 miles per hour, what a little rocket. Aren’t they the most adorable pair, look at those smiles!
Blanche had another fun weekend of Fast Cat and posted a new fastest speed of 25.63 m.p.h.
We love to see our students doing all the things with their dogs, Blanche is one lucky girl to have Christine and Paul in her life.

Alaska got to try AKC FastCat today. She had 2 runs and ran over 27.7 miles per hour. This awesome little junior handler and her dog Luna also gave it a try today and clocked 14.5 MPH with those short little legs!

I learned today that this boy was ranked 1st in Rally for his breed in the nation by Front & Finish magazine in 2023. Total of 145 points, second place dog had 59 points.
The Front & Finish® Rally Master Ratings rank dogs in AKC Rally Obedience competition who place first through fourth in Rally Master level classes during a given calendar year. One point is earned for each dog defeated within a class. For example, in a class of 20 competing dogs, the first place winner would receive 19 points as it defeated this number of other dogs. The second place winner would receive 18 points; third place, 17 points; and fourth place, 16 points.
He is just so much fun.

“Phoebe had a wonderful weekend at the GSDCMSP herding trial at beautiful Elysian Farm. The very best things were the experience and learning she is gaining under the guidance of Phyllis Clark! (My goal is to be her second favorite person after Phyllis! 😝)

Did you know Overdale Canine Sports hosts 4-H training events for the 4-H members of both Pierce and St. Croix counties? Our summer program alone provides agility training to about 50 4-Hers and their dogs!
ACT test scheduled for September 21. Same day registration from 8:00-9:30 am with first run to begin at 10:00 am. Can't wait to see you there!

“Team Ellie showed at Marshfield Kennel club, Marshfield, WI. She had numerous placings. And Ellie got Highest Triple score from Master, Excellent, Advanced levels,and Highest Combine Excellent and Advanced levels on Sunday! Her first time winning ,such an honor! Plus recieved a new crate and a bag of goodies and a yummy smelling candle. Thank you judges Charles Kline and Anna Lorenzo for the great courses. And thank you to all the volunteers, gift donations... last but not least, thanks to my instructors, Karen Thompson and Overdale Kennel staff.. yep, that's Ellie's usual look. Don't think she likes getting her picture done!”

Ever wonder what FastCat looks like and if your dog would like it? Here’s Rogaine showing you how it’s done! Rogaine broke his personal best record of 28.45 MPH to 28.81 MPH and in the rain today at the Samoyed Association of Mlps/ St. Paul Fast-Cat !
Brim and I had moments of brilliance at the AKC Rally National Championship this week.
Wish Brim and I well as we compete at the 2024 Rally National Championship. Tomorrow is registration in Wilmington, Ohio. Competition on Thursday and Friday. This event will televised live on AKC TV.
Shelley and Bliss’s special presentation for being the number 1 Rally Miniature American Shepherd in 2023(& 2022). This is the kind of connection you can build with your dog through training.
Brim’s second place Master Container run today. This was a challenging run, he makes me look good.
Hilary continues the tradition of working with the youth in the Pierce County 4-H Dog Program. These youth are our future in dog sports. Overdale Kennel and Canine Sports values the 4-H program and what it offers to youth. Many of you know that my start in dog training was in 4-H over 55 years ago. 35 of those years I worked with the Pierce County 4-H Program as a leader/instructor. My children were raised training dogs, teaching dog classes as youth leaders for other 4-H members, and participating in all 4-H had to offer them in other projects and activities. Hilary is now the Pierce County Dog Project Adult Leader, the program has changed so much in the last few years, enabling these youth to participate in so many venues with their dogs. I know Hilary continues to strive to provide these youth with the best experiences the program can offer. Here is a video I took last week while the 4-H group was working on Agility. Hilary is the adult leader in this video and there are 2 youth leaders in this group sharing their knowledge of dog agility with the other members, the best way to truly learn something is to teach it. Here at Overdale Kennel we have employed so many past dog project members, I have actually lost count, they have always been some of the finest employees we have ever had. One past dog project member has shown 2 of my dogs to AKC Champions and Grand Champions. 4-H and other youth programs change lives and we are thrilled to be able to support them.
We are getting prepared and the excitement is building for our Grand Opening of Overdale Canine Sports tomorrow May 4, 2024 at S1000 Westland Drive, Spring Valley, WI from 10:00-6:00(in the business park!). Be sure to use this address as Google will direct you to our original location at the farm.

If we are going to have trouble, this is the sign Brim likes to turn half way and watch me execute my spin, then clap me on the back and say, “Nicely done!” We both managed to spin this time.
