Did you know? Dogs must be 24 months or older for OFA Hip and Elbow certification, and 12 months or older for Cardiac, Patellas, and Thyroid certification. There is no age minimum for eye certification, nor for DNA, since DNA does not change as the dog ages.

The OFA also does Preliminary evaluations on hips and elbows before 24 months of age. However, they will need to be re-evaluated again for a final certification once the dog reaches 24 months.

Misrepresenting a Service Dog is a CRIME! It is punishable by fine and or jail time in California and many other states.

As dog trainers we hear this very frequently "I want my dog to go everywhere with me"

Pet dogs that are not trained and most of time are not confident out in public can be a nuisance to the general public and really hurt Service Dog handlers.

Due to so many ill behaved DOGS that people just put a vest on has created business owners and the general public to question disabled handlers that are just trying to do normal everyday things. They get hassled regarding their dog and questioned about their disability.

The ADA Law states that Service Dogs must be trained to perform a task, sometimes life saving that mitigates a handlers disability. Being hassled regarding their Service Dog is a common thing we hear from our handlers and it can create a lot of unnecessary stress for someone that has a disability.

There are so many places that pet dogs are allowed to go it really is not necessary to take them places they don't have rights, so please help us spread awareness of the laws in your state regarding the difference in Service Dogs and pets.

I have this gorgeous boy.
He is kennel trained and potty training in progress, very few accidents but for the most part he knows where to go. He knows “sit” and “no” working on stay.

This kennel was not for him but he seemed to love it. Goes in and out and loves to sleep in there now. He kennel trained himself. He is still looking for the perfect humans.
