Due to increased construction and subdivisions here, we are trying to rehome our birds. We cannot keep up with the predators moving to our area. Fencing, electric fencing, double fencing, dogs... it doesn't seem to do any good with hungry animals. Maybe one day we will start anew, but the birds need a safe place.

A possum managed to get in one of our coops last night. Our good boy, Phideaux, grabbed it out of the coop. I know people say possums don't kill chickens, but it is false. Lost one girl and another is healing inside our house.

We have had a predator attack the last week. This young girl had a few puncture wounds that became infested with botfly maggots. She's feisty and free of maggots now. She's in the house for a bit until she heals.
