The History of JoesJuice
As a beginner saltwater reef aquarist in 2001, I started to see these small but “cute” anemones growing in my tank. Not until they overwhelmed my tank did I ask my retailer what was going on. I was told I had an Aiptasia anemone problem. My retailer suggested two different home remedies. These methods proved fruitless. Next, I started buying over the counter products aimed at solving the problem. When these products failed, I was told to add various fish and invertebrates to the tank. Again, I saw no appreciable difference over time.
At this point, I felt lost and on my own. Before my next attempt at solving the problem, I engrossed myself in reading as much as possible about these pesky creatures. Learning all about their behaviors and reproduction methods became an obsession. While learning all about the species, I began experimenting with my own homemade solutions to eradicate my Aiptasia problem.
Based I want I learned, I arrived at what would be the final solution. After a year and half of development and testing, I was able to reduce my population from a few hundred down to zero. Once I was confident in my product, with the permission of an owner, I began testing my product at his retail store. After three months, this retailer began to use the product out in the field on his customers’ tanks.
