Rolled in Sunday to work Colt again. His owner is an avid horseman who also knows folks we train in our area too from their event circuit. We got some great sessions at the January Workshop at Ridgeside K9 Central Illinois; now onto more...

Being calm can be rewarding
Affection & Aggression can both be extremely passionate behaviors. Emotion can ruin clarity for dogs as much as their human counterparts. In many facets of the work, we approach them in the same manner to dissipate issues from high levels.
Think of the UFC fighter with a grudge pre-match or a man marrying someone the family knows is a train wreck that will ruin him. The lack of logic and cerebral thought can make life unpredictable! Decision making process goes out the door for quick gratification and quick reward. Social Media has also created these same extreme feelings of love and hate. No middle...do you see it? 📲...
...Marley is learning calm behavior gets affection. It's been quite the process. Many would get frustrated and go straight to corrections. Trying to turn off the reward patterns for excitement is tough for a dog when it's all he knows is free-for-all feelings. Home will need to follow through. Doing this for weeks VS been doing that for months.

Our weekend was almost 100% full capacity. From Rantoul, Champaign, Ashkum, Paxton, Clifton, Manteno, Bourbonnais, Aroma Park, St. Anne, Bradley, Watseka, Kentland, and Kankakee. 🚌💭
2025 Winter Rotation is gaining traction unlike the conditions on many country roads. 🛣🚦❄️
-Spots usually fill for at least 8-12 months ⏳️
-Pay as you Go, No upfront fees or deposits
-Families run 7-14-21-30 day Rotations
Two PM SPOTS open for Mondays. ✍️
Monday was Herscher, Bonfield, Dwight, Pontiac, Garner, Chebanse, and Bourbonnais in afternoon.
-Group Class is Limited Numbers Sundays!!

Availability is crucial to be on the schedule.

...limited space for families on our roster. Just added a few more with new kids and new pups from the Manteno and Bourbonnais region. 🏡
The plan, the preparation, the details. All can be just as important (if not more) than the training itself. Articulation of information is a vital part of why so many choose Crouse Canine for training.
Ability to move information is a skill in itself being able to get anybody from 6 to 65 years old on topics and techniques to comprehend the how, the why, and the questions we get from all families.
In the end, adaptability isn't something that all folks can do when put on the spot. We're known for it and do it daily. Accepting new dogs now!

*Winter are the busiest months for us; dogs are more isolated and contained. Dashes of Cabin Fever when the days get shorter, temperatures drop, and we hibernate somewhat like dogs.

Roscoe working on speed in his heel. Smooth was slow before, now that he enjoys the position speed comes, then rewards will be higher for 'em too.
If he didn't bit enjoy it, speed would be hard to develop, even w/corrections or leash pressure.
Don't get the speed we want? Will either withhold rewards altogether or give much less. Do better work, get more pay. 🤝 Simple as that....
